Dr. Vassilios Kazakidis, P.Eng, is an Associate Professor in Mining Engineering at Laurentian University, after completing his degrees at Queens University and UBC. He has been with the School of Engineering in Sudbury, Ontario since 2001 and was consulting to the mining industry before that, residing in Sudbury since 1990. He teaches in the areas of underground mining methods, project valuation, risk management and engineering economics. His research includes mine production system analysis, flexible mining systems, economic impact of operating problems, and social licensing in mine feasibility studies.
