COSMO – Stochastic Mine Planning Laboratory Dept. of Mining and Materials Engineering SEMINAR “Estimation of stresses and properties of coal– rock mass based on inverse problem solution” Presented by: Larisa Nazarova Principle Researcher, Institute of Mining, Russian Academy of Science Thursday, May 14th 2015 12:15 pm Room 105, FDA Building, 3450 University Street McGill University Refreshments will be served. Dr. Larissa Nazarova is currently the principle scientific researcher for the Institute of Petroleum and Gas Geophysics at the Siberian branch of the Russian Academy of Science (SB RAS). She received both her PhD (Physics and Mathematics, ’88) and DSc (Physics and Mathematics, ’00) degrees from SB RAS. Her current scientific interests consist of: developing numerical methods for solving direct and inverse problems in geomechanics and geodynamics, exploring the geomechanical substantiation of new mining technologies and the modelling and investigation of stress and strain fields of massive rock.
