The National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship and the Guidance team at the Peter
Doherty Institute would like to invite you to attend the annual Antimicrobial Stewardship
Pharmacist Seminar.
The one-day interactive seminar is designed for pharmacists currently practising or
intending to practice in the area of antimicrobial stewardship and will be relevant for both
beginners and experienced antimicrobial stewardship pharmacists. The seminar will
include lectures and panel discussions to explore the various and current issues relevant
to antimicrobial stewardship. This year, there will be an additional (optional) half day preseminar workshop involving some presentations and small group case discussions to
explore antimicrobial stewardship in specific clinical and practice settings.
Learning Objectives
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
• Describe current and future issues with antimicrobial stewardship (AMS) in different
clinical and practice settings and explore approaches to overcome issues identified
in different clinical and practice settings
• Discuss AMS strategies that have not been effective in different clinical and
practice settings
• Understand approaches to ensure sustainability of AMS programs
• Understand different views on AMS from various stakeholders
• Discuss methods to best communicate and market AMS to different stakeholders
• Discuss how to evaluate an AMS program
Accreditation number: S2015/35
This CPD event has been accredited for 9.6 hours of Group-1 CPD (or 9.6 credits),
suitable for inclusion in an individual pharmacist’s CPD plan
