Wallpaper* Handmade August 2010 The magazine’s most ambitious issue to date and, with a series of publishing firsts, one that is not to be missed 01 Editorial overview We know what we want and how to get it. For our most ambitious project to date, Wallpaper* bought together and briefed some of the worlds leading designers, craftsmen and manufacturers. And they produced unique furniture, fittings, foodstuffs, fashion and more. Just for us. And the August ‘Handmade’ issue is dedicated to this astonishing collection of one-off designs and delicacies, chronicling their production and presentation at this year’s Salone del Mobile. This unique issue shows Wallpaper* at work as client, patron and creative director, a real force in the design world. ‘This hugely ambitious project is about the recipe for remarkable things: art, craft, skill, vision and the determination to do better’ Tony Chambers, Wallpaper* Editor-in-Chief 02 Publishing firsts: custom covers The Handmade issue pushes the boundaries of publishing by inviting readers to get hands on and design their own covers.
