“We have been taught to insist on our own
existence, on the foreordained conclusion, “I am.”
Since we accept that claim as basic, we have a responsibility to investigate its consequences fully;
to know who we are and what is possible for us. “
Tarthang Tulku in ‘Visions of Knowledge’
Tarthang Tulku, formally educated in Tibet in the
Buddhist tradition, is renowned as an innovative
teacher and as a visionary, independent thinker.
He has lived in America since the late sixties of
the 20th century where he has directed major
educational and publishing projects worldwide.
His books on Kum Nye Relaxation, Skillful Means,
Buddhist Psychology and Time Space Knowledge
Vision have been translated in many western
languages.
Joleen Vries is member of the board and co-
dean of Nyingma Centrum Nederland. Trained
at The University of Amsterdam she graduated in
Psychology; Methods of Investigation.
Joleen has been a student of Tarthang Tulku’s
teachings since she fell in love with his TSK
teachings in 1984. Since then she was a student
in many Nyingma Retreats and courses. She is
currently active not only in Amsterdam but also
abroad as a Nyingma Centers international
teacher of Buddhist Studies and Practices and
Nyingma Psychology and Meditation.
Love of Knowledge
6th European TSK Summer Retreat 2015
August 11-16 Amsterdam The Netherlands
What happens to experience when conventional
structures of time and space dissolve into new
possibilities? In the Time, Space, Knowledge
Vision, Tibetan lama Tarthang Tulku – one of this
century’s most profound masters – explores this
question in playful, surprising ways.
The goal of this retreat is to find ways to break
free of our conditioning and awaken our
creativity. When we live fully in each arising
moment (TIME), with no distance between
ourselves and the world we inhabit (SPACE), joy
and intuitive insight (KNOWLEDGE) well up
spontaneously. The secret to this transformation
is a form of inquiry that is at once free, open, and
embodied.
Klaus Noldes is a student of TSK since 1987.
Time Space Knowledge Vision
The Time Space Knowledge Vision was
introduced to the West by Tibetan Lama Tarthang
Tulku in 1977 as an invitation to freely explore our
own assumptions about ‘reality’ and who we are.
Especially suited for the adventurous
Western mind, it forms part of the curriculum of
all the Nyingma Centers worldwide. The TSK
series of publications contains a vast treasure of
insights and exercises that open up our minds and
hearts to unexpected and alternative dimensions
of experience.
From 1992-2001 he worked fulltime for the
Nyingma Center in Germany, helping setting up
and running a commercial printing company.
In the end of the nineties he taught classes in Kum
Nye, Mantra, Visualisation and other Nyingma
topics. In the following years he worked as a
gardener again. In 2007 he founded and led for
several years a studygroup based on “Joy of
Being” by Tarthang Tulku.
Klaus currently lives at the Nyingma Center in
Cologne where he leads a TSK study group. In
autumn 2015 he will have completed a formal
TSK-teacher training led by Jack Petranker,
founder of Center for Creative Inquiry.
“Fresh and alive, the Time, Space, Knowledge
Vision invites us to discover deeper knowledge within
daily life. We do not need to seek out special
experiences. We only need to explore with caring,
insight, and imagination the events, conditions, and
structures that we use to make sense of our reality. “
