BidPal Genius & Contract Delivery

Student Volunteer Instructions for BidPal Genius & Contract Delivery – Saturday, April 25
1.
We are depending on you to be there for your shift. If you are unable to work then it is your
responsibility to find a substitute. If, for any reason, you are unable to make it, please call Mrs. Beth
Ginger at 402-707-7763 with the name of your substitute.
2.
You should wear khaki shorts or pants, a Creighton Prep shirt, a belt and comfortable shoes. If you
would rather not wear a Creighton Prep shirt, please wear an orange / gray / or blue, solid-colored polo
or shirt. (Your shirt doesn’t need to have a collar.) ESPN GameDay has donated some shirts that may be
available for students to wear, if they’d like. They will be at the check-in table. (See instruction 4 below.)
Green lanyards will be provided for all BidPal Geniuses.
3.
Please park or get dropped off on the west side of the building and enter through the main
Campus Center entrance.
4.
Please arrive at 4:30 p.m. and check-in in the Campus Center with Mr. Sean Joyce-Whipp and Mrs.
Tara Joyce-Whipp where you will receive your name tag. Please inform them if you are a work grant
student or NHS member.
5.
The volunteer appreciation dinner is provided by Sam & Louie’s New York Pizzeria from 4:30 p.m.-8:00
p.m. in the Campus Center. You should eat in shifts as instructed by Mrs. Beth Ginger.
6.
You will report to T-003 at 4:40 p.m. where Mrs. Beth Ginger, Mrs. Tami Suprenant and Ms.
Jackie Lesiak and a representative from BidPal will give instructions. All silent auction and BASH
Mart bidding will be done on guests’ smartphones or roaming iPad stations via BidPal. Prior to
Saturday, April 25, please take a moment to click HERE and enter password G35XBP to watch a BidPal
video.
7.
Your first job will be to serve as BidPal Geniuses for our BASH guests. Bidding on silent auction
items, BASH Mart items and raise-the-paddle donations begins at 5:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m.
During training, you will be provided with an iPad, instructions and table assignments. You will also be
provided with a diagram of the room with table numbers so that you are familiar with the room
arrangement and the tables you are trying to find.
a.
Between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., you will be stationed at an assigned auction category table and
helping guests without smartphones bid on items from your iPad. Between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.,
when the guests are seated and eating dinner, you will float between your assigned silent auction
category table and your assigned dinner table(s). The first time you approach your assigned dinner
table(s), please introduce yourself and let the guests know that you are there to help those without
smartphones bid on items from your iPad.
8.
Your will have a short break between 8:00 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. where you can get a soda or water from
the Campus Center.
9.
Your second job will be to deliver the auction contracts to the winning bidders. Please report to
T-002 at 8:20 p.m. where Mrs. Beth Ginger will provide a quick review. Once the silent auction has
closed and the winning bids have been tallied, contracts will be printed (by table number) and you will
deliver those to the guests. Contracts will be delivered to all winning bidders from the silent auction
and live auction.
10. You must get permission from Mrs. Beth Ginger before you leave for the evening.
11. You should be finished by 10:00 p.m.
12. As an incentive, your name will be entered into a drawing where you could win prizes including cash or
gift cards. To be included in the drawing you must check-in in the Campus Center (where you will
receive your name tag) and then complete your entire shift. The drawing will be held the week after
BASH at school.
