Dear Member of the Class of 2019, The seniors of the class of 2016 hope that you are having a great summer! We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you become a part of the Creighton Prep community, and we are writing to introduce you to the Creighton Prep Big Brothers program. This program is important to the seniors as well as to you. It gives us the opportunity to share with you the spirit of Prep. During the spring, much work has been done to match freshmen with members of the senior class. These seniors have adopted freshmen as their Little Brothers for the coming school year. Your Big Brother has recently received your contact information and should be in the process of contacting you already! If your Big Brother has not contacted you already, please contact Greg Glenn at [email protected] and/or Eric Thompson at [email protected] so that we can follow up immediately. The very first activity sponsored by the Big Brothers is a welcome dance for all Prep, Duchesne, Marian and Mercy freshmen on Saturday, June 27 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. This is our way to welcome you to Prep. The dance will be held in the Henry L. Sullivan, S.J. Campus Center (which is airconditioned), music will be provided by a DJ and refreshments will be served. Dress code for this dance is casual and appropriate dress. The cost is $5.00 and you should enter through the west gym lobby doors. To start the school year off well, we will have an orientation for all freshmen on Tuesday, August 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Prep, and attendance is required. During the school year, there will be many activities planned for you with your Big Brother including the Freshman and Transfer Families Mass and Potluck Supper Fun Night on Sunday, August 16, the Freshman Homecoming Dance on Friday, October 2 (semi-formal dress) and the Freshman Christmas Dance on Saturday, December 5 (semi-formal dress). We also want to remind you and your parents to mark your calendars immediately for the 2016 Freshman Retreat from Thursday, February 4 to Saturday, February 6, 2016. This retreat is mandatory for all freshmen, and begins on Thursday at 6:00 p.m. and concludes on Saturday morning around 11:00 a.m. Please do not schedule any conflicts for this time. Failure to complete Freshman Retreat may result in a student not being allowed to graduate from Prep.
