A SPECIAL PARTNERSHIP Whyte & Mackay was founded in 1844 by the partnership of Charles Whyte and James Mackay who saw the opportunity to create a superior blended whisky on the banks of the Clyde in Glasgow. It is the only mainstream whisky that is triple matured ensuring that traditional values and expertise still apply today. All our malts are aged independently. Once our Master Distiller has carefully selected the best ones, they are brought together in sherry casks to mature. They are then blended with single grain whiskies before being returned to casks a third time to mature until perfection is reached. Triple maturation gives Whyte & Mackay its unique character and its depth of colour. It’s a more expensive process, but the result is a smoother, richer taste.
