CROOZ CONDUCTS CLOSED BETA TEST OF FINAL FANTASY
GRANDMASTERS
A full-fledged online RPG title for smartphones that shares the world
setting of FINAL FANTASY XI
Starting Monday July 8, CROOZ, Inc. (headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Koji Obuchi)
will conduct a closed beta test of FINAL FANTASY GRANDMASTERS™ , a game
CROOZ is developing which allows players to easily experience a full-fledged online RPG on
their smartphones. This game shares the characters and world setting of FINAL
FANTASY ® XI , developed and operated by Square Enix Co., Ltd. (“Square Enix”). Today,
May 29, 2015, CROOZ will begin recruiting participants for the closed beta test.
FINAL FANTASY GRANDMASTERS will be the first full-fledged online RPG for
smartphones in the FINAL FANTASY series. The game uses the characters and world
setting of FINAL FANTASY XI , and will offer players an easy way to experience an
MMO* on their smartphones. In this grand adventure, players will be able to design their
own characters, customizing their appearance and abilities in any way by combining a range
of familiar Jobs—such as Warrior, Paladin, Black Mage, and White Mage—with a wide
variety of weapons and equipment. Real-time cooperative battles also add an extra element
of fun, allowing players to help and be helped by friends online, use the chat function to
communicate with allies met online, and team up to take on powerful enemies too strong for
one player to defeat alone.
In developing FINAL FANTASY GRANDMASTERS , CROOZ will draw on its
operational expertise built up through games such as The Knights of Avalon , which
enjoys a large player base more than two years after its release in 2012. We will also
leverage our technical expertise in implementing real-time online functions and user
interfaces optimized for smartphone devices, accumulated over the course of releasing
multiple native app games. Making this game enjoyable for players on smartphones will be
at the forefront of our minds as we develop FINAL FANTASY GRANDMASTERS .
