CSI – EBG Awards for Best Thesis of Ph.D./M.Phil./M.E./M.Tech.
CSI has been formed in 1965 and it has been instrumental in guiding the Indian IT industry down the
right path since its formative years. Today, the CSI has 73 chapters all over India, over 500 student branches,
and more than 100000 members including India's most famous IT industry leaders, brilliant scientists and
dedicated academicians. CSI Coimbatore Chapter is one of oldest chapters of CSI in India. It has over 500
lifemembers. It is also an Award Winning Chapter for the past 10 consecutive years.
EBG Foundation has been founded by Prof. Dr. E.Balagurusamy former Vice-Chancellor of Anna
University, Chennai also Former Member Union Public Service Commission, New Delhi.
Computer Society of India, Coimbatore Chapter and EBG Foundation, Coimbatore wish to recognize
the Best research work has done in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology every year
starting from this year. The awards will be in the categories of:

Best Ph.D Thesis Award

Best M.Phil Thesis Award

Best M.E./M.Tech Thesis Award
The research dissertations should have been accepted and the degrees should have been awarded
by the Research Institutions/Universities in the jurisdiction of CSI Coimbatore Chapter. The award consists of
Certificates and Cash Prizes. The cash prizes for First and Second prizes are Rs.20000/- and Rs.10000/respectively for Best Ph.D Thesis Award. The cash prizes for First and Second prizes are Rs.15000/- and
Rs.7500/- respectively for other categories.
Criteria:
1. Any candidate whose Ph.D./M.Phil./M.E./M.Tech dissertation(s) has been accepted by the recognized

Universities / Institutions in Coimbatore during the period from 1 July 2013 to 30 June 2014 is eligible.
(Viva-Voce should have been over)
2. Submitted dissertations will be reviewed by a panel of eminent Researchers/Scientists for technical depth,
significance of the research contribution, potential impact on theory and practice, quality of presentation and
other parameters of importance. The short listed candidates will be called for presentation before the
evaluation committee constituted by Computer Society of India - Coimbatore Chapter and EBG Foundation

April 2015.
3. The persons, who have already got Best thesis award from any other forum or university, are not eligible to
apply for this best thesis award program.
4. A one-page summary of the significant contribution of the dissertation to the society should be attached
along with the application.
5. One copy of the thesis in Electronic format need to be send to the [email protected] e-mail address, if file

is too large that can be sent in the form of CD/DVD to the following address on or before 30 April 2015.

6. The decisions of the Awards Committee and Computer Society of India - Coimbatore Chapter Officials are
final.

The nomination will be done by the institution/university from where the Research Scholar/Student got
his/her Ph.D./M.Phil./M.E./M.Tech. The dissertations nominated for the award must have been defended
