MANHUNTER 2015
Official Rules
*Rules are still being drafted at the moment. Subject to change before the event.* The event will take place on June 20, 2015. Races start at 10:00 AM, 1:00PM, and 3:00 PM. Arrive one hour before your race to get ready. There is limited space available in each race. Family Fun Race This race is intended for younger kids to run with their parents, as a team of up to 6 people. The course is shorter and the Runners will not be disqualified upon being caught by the Hunters. The race will start at 10 AM sharp. Arrive one hour early for registration and set up. Participants in this race must be at least 6 years of age. Each team will be given a map of the game area, marking boundaries, obstacles, and the finish line. Teams must carry their own watch and compass. The use of cell phones or radios during the game is not permitted. Each Runner will be given a number which is to be visibly pinned to their shirt. Participants may choose any path through any terrain within the established boundaries. They may not cross any fences except those marked on the map. The race will begin with the sound of a shotgun. Both Runners and Hunters will begin at the same time from different start points. If a Runner is caught by a hunter, they will be given a mark which will negatively affect their finishing results upon crossing the finish line. To catch a Runner, the Hunter will ride within a safe 15 feet of the participant, or otherwise stop their forward movement. The Hunter will yell “You’re caught!”, and the Runner must stop and allow the Hunter to mark them. If, for any reason the Runner does not hear the Hunter or keeps on running without being marked, the Runner will be disqualified at the finish line. Directly disobeying any rules or the instruction from any staff member is grounds for disqualification. The race will last one hour. When the time limit has been reached, another sound of the shotgun will be heard. Any teams not yet across the finish line must check in at the Hotel immediately. Intermediate (Age 12 15) Race Participants will register in teams of two. This course is slightly longer than the Family Race and the Runners will be disqualified upon being caught by the Hunters.
