The GCC countries accomplished
major progress in economic and social
development.
This was emphasized in the “Human Development Index” issued by the UN to measure
the reality of corporate social responsibility. The Index placed, in its 2014 report, the GCC
countries at the highest category of countries with “High Human Development”.
To accentuate the signiﬁcance of the effective role of the participating sectors in the tri-dimensional development system “Economic, Social and Environmental”, particularly
private sectors, civil society organizations, foundations and charitable societies, the conference focuses on recognizing the programs and activities of social responsibility in the Arabian Gulf and displaying the best international and local examples in social responsibility as
well as social partnerships with the private sector.
