We successfully entered a multitude of competitions and community events showing off our students’ artistic talents and achievements to the public. Students work was exhibited in events such as Hyper Vision, Darlington, The Young Originals to name a few. One talented student’s work will be on permanent display as part of the children’s ward in the new Fiona Stanley Hospital, quite an achievement! Above: Cassidy Beanland - Winning artwork on permanent display at Fiona Stanley Hospital Left: Completed Sport Urban Art Mural for the Gosnells Community. Earlier last year students were part of an Urban Art Workshop. They collaborated with a professional urban artist and learnt spray painting techniques. Students designed and painted a large scale sport themed mural on the back of the school gym, a lot of hard work and an excellent result! Students were acknowledged for their urban artwork in the local newspaper. Art Extension students were then commissioned to design and paint a mural for the local Goodstart Early Learning Centre on Bateman Road. This was a massive commendation and achievement for all students involved, and the result significantly impressed the staff and children of the day care centre. Each year we look forward to engaging students in the very best of art opportunities and experiences. This program is designed to support young artists to grow and develop their own artistic abilities and creative thinking.
