Useful resources
Does your charity send money overseas?
If you do, the trustees are legally responsible for ensuring that charitable funds are
properly used. How can trustees make sure they are fulfilling that duty?
1. Carry out due diligence on individuals and organisations that the charity works with
2. Make sure that adequate monitoring takes place: if your charity gives money to partners
and beneficiaries, check that it reaches the proper destination and is used as intended.
We would encourage you to read Charity Commission guidance on on due diligence.
