You will leave our Big Writing training day with:
• a full understanding of how to teach, assess and track writing
from Foundation to Year 6
• a fun, lively and engaging methodology loved by both children and teachers.
• an insight into the impact of talk on writing:
“If a child can’t say it, a child can’t write it”
• an understanding of how to use the Big Writing features effectively, including:
Standards for Writing Assessment; VCOP; Writers’ Voice; GHaSP; Basic Skills; The
Punctuation Pyramid; WOW words; The Big Writing lesson; and much more
• an understanding of how to actively involve pupils in assessment (AfL)
• details of how Big Writing meets the expectations of the new curriculum
• the ability to significantly raise standards in writing
