‘The New Bluetooth Smart Mesh Standard’ – A technology that will truly enable the Internet
of Things
Rick Walker, Marketing Manager of IoT, CSR
With the addition of mesh capability to Bluetooth Smart, it is now possible to not only extend the
communication range of Bluetooth Smart, but also to reduce the complexity of mesh networks,
make them secure and energy efficient and most importantly, dramatically reduce the installation
and running costs. The new Bluetooth Smart Mesh standard will enable consumers to directly
interact with the things around them via any smartphone, tablet, TV style remote or simply by their
proximity to a ‘thing’.
