There you will dind your heat start time. Write it down. Your BIB Number will be used to dind your race packet when you arrive on Race Day. Print the Reebok Spartan Race Waiver and NBC Wavier located under Important Documents. Fill out the waivers completely and bring it with you along with one valid form of ID. EVERY RACER MUST SIGN BOTH WAIVERS & SHOW A VALID FORM OF ID! ! DO NOT FORGET YOUR PHOTO ID!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! RACE DAY REGISTRATION FLOW NOTE: Day of Race Registration will be available on at a fee of $150 NOTE: Show up at least 2 HOURS prior to your Heat Start Time at the parking lot. !Saturday: !Sunday: !STEP 1: Registration OPENS at 6:00am and CLOSES at 4:30pm. If you’re planning to store gear at our Bag Check tent, we will tag your bag with a wristband, which will match an identical wristband that you must wear. Once you dinish the race, you’ll need to turn in your wristband in order to collect your bag. Bags will only be returned to individuals whose name and number match up. Bags can be checked for $5 per bag. For each checked bag, you will receive $5 in Spartan Bucks, which can be redeemed at the Merchandise Tent (not valid for Food or Beverage). !Saturday and Sunday: Bag Check tent will open at 6:00am and CLOSE when the last racer picks up their bags. ! Tri-‐State NY Sprint event page • If you have any problems with your registration, please come to the “Race Day Registration” tent and we’ll help resolve it. ! COURSE DESCRIPTIONS ! Terrain: Since it is a ski mountain, you can plan on running up and down slopes all day. Cutting in and out of a mixture of open dields, tight single-‐track, boulder dields, muddy chutes, and dense forest is a given for this course ! Special Gear: Please make sure if you are in the later waves that you carry a headlamp. The course is hilly with challenging terrain so expect to be on course much longer than predicted. Many of you will end up on the course in the dark after the sunsets at 8:20pm. Come prepared! NOTE: Your headlamp may get muddy or wet so plan accordingly. Course closes 3 hours after the last heat or at the Race Directors discretion ! Water Stations: As always, Spartans come prepared! All racers should be sure to bring extra water and energy fuel if needed. There will be three water stations on course and one at the Finish Line. You can bring a water bottle or hydration pack with you and take as much water as you'd like at each station, but if you use our disposable cups, please take only one at each station and redill it. Course Cutoff: There will be a course cutoff at 7:30pm on Saturday and 6:00pm on Sunday. Racers may be pulled from course at the discretion of the race director from the following locations on course. Racers not reaching the Mile 3.1 on the course may be removed from course for their own safety. ! Saturday: 7:30pm -‐ Course Cutoff -‐ Mile 3.1 Sunday: 6:00pm -‐ Course Cutoff -‐ Mile 3.1 ! EVENT TIMING • You will receive a Chip Timer ($40 value) and yellow wrist strap to record your time and results. • Chip Timer must be fastened around wrist in order to record your dinish time properly. • Upon completion of the race at the Finish line: o Drop Chip Timer and wrist strap into buckets at either side of the Finish Line. o You will then receive your Spartan Race Medal and T-‐Shirt. • Finisher Times will be posted at the Results Tent near the Finish Line and will be on the Spartan Race Website as quickly as possible. ! AWARDS • The Awards Ceremony will be held at 11:50am on Saturday and Sunday. • The top 3 male and 3 female ELITE Heat racers will receive a cash prize of $500, $200, and $100 respectfully, Saturday only. • The top 3 male and 3 female racers will also receive a Unique Reebok Spartan Race Plaque designed by one of our most loyal racers. SPARTAN HURRICANE HEAT – Friday Night: 6:00am The Spartan Hurricane Heat gives runners the chance to meet and run with the Founders and staff of Spartan race in a unique and memorable way. Held on Saturday morning, both on and off the Spartan Race Course, the goal is to dinish as a team. no timing chips, no clock, just a Spartan-‐style workout that represents what our company and our athletes are all about…getting up when your knocked down and dinishing what you start. Successful dinishers earn Hurricane Heat dog tags, a Hurricane Heat Badge, entry into our closed networking group, a dinisher t-‐shirt, and the chance of a lifetime to dind the Spartan dinish line as a Hurricane Heater. The 2015 Atlanta Hurricane Heat will take place at 5:30am, Saturday morning and will last 3+ hours. If you are registered for a regular heat on Saturday or Sunday, you can join the Hurricane Heat for only $25. Visit here to get signed up! FESTIVAL CHALLENGES While you are waiting to race or looking for an extra workout, try out one of our Festival Challenges. Test your skills on the Traverse Wall, see how many pull-‐ups you can do at our Pull-‐up Challenge, how many times you can a dlip a Tractor Tire, or see how many times you can push press our Slosh Pipe. 1st place male and female challenge winners receive a Free Race Entry to the Spartan Race event of their choice. ! Traverse Wall Challenge – An exact replica of the wall we use on course. The goal is to get across the wall without falling off and ring the bell in the fastest time! Slosh Pipe Press –A PVC pipe capped at both ends and dilled with water. The tube is only dilled to about 60% capacity, which allows the water to “slosh” around. How many times can you press the Slosh Pipe in one minute? Tire Flip Challenge – Flip a tractor tire as many times as possible in 60 seconds. Clif Builders Bar Pull Up Challenge – Cameras will record this entire challenge in hopes of documenting a new Guinness World Record for most pull-‐ups in one minute. There will be clearly marked walkways to get to your destination. Please keep the parking lot clean. There will be a shoe/clothing donation station in the parking lot as well as in the festival area. Directions: From either North or South go from I-‐87 to 17. Then from 17 jump to 17A and follow that and our signs to the parking lots at Tuxedo Ridge Ski Center. ! SPECTATORS ! • Spectator passes are available online for $20 here for Saturday and here for Sunday. Passes will be available onsite for $25. Please come by the Spectator Tent to pick up your wristband. • Please print the Spectator Waiver from the Tri-‐State NY Spartan event page and bring an ID to the Spectator Tent on race day. • Spectator maps will be available at the Spectator Tent for those looking to get close to the action. • Anyone entering the festival MUST dill out a Spartan Race Spectator waiver and NBC waiver and have a wristband (including racers). • Food (BBQ and healthy options) and drink will be for sale (please bring cash). • Unique Spectator Course access with obstacle viewing, to get your favorite Spartan Racer’s pictures! • DJ & Emcee entertainment all day. ! EQUIPMENT & CLOTHING • All participants are encouraged to bring a change of clothes, shoes, and a plastic bag. You are going to get wet and muddy! • Shoe Donation will be available-‐ we’ll clean and send your dilthy running shoes to needy feet all over the globe. Just tie them together and toss them in the pile by the showers. • Shoes with spikes are not allowed. ! FOOD & BEVERAGES ! • Food and beverages will be available for sale so please bring cash and have your ID ready if you are planning on having a beer. • Your complimentary beer on us will also be available to those of age as well! SPARTAN INFORMATION • ALL CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIMES. LEAVING YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED WHILE YOU ARE RACING WILL RESULT IN BEING PULLED OFF THE COURSE AND ASKED TO LEAVE. • No pop-‐up tents are allowed in the festival. Tent space is reserved for Sponsors. • No coolers or glass bottles allowed on property. Security staff will check for them as you enter. • Shoe and clothing donation available both in festival and in parking lots. If you want to donate your muddy clothing and shoes make sure you drop it off at the proper tent and not on the ground. • If you wear a GoPro, please make sure your contact information (name & phone number) is somewhere on the camera. If you lose the camera on the course, this is the only way we are able to identify it. • You must have ID to check in. Racers ages 14 and older can participate in the adult’s race. 14 year olds require a guardian to run with them on the adult course. Those under 14 are encouraged to join the Kids race. • No DOGS/ pets allowed -‐ Only Service Dogs with proper credentials are allowed. • Please DO NOT call venue with questions! In the event of inclement weather such as lightning, tornadoes, hurricanes and the like, Spartan Race reserves the right to eliminate obstacles, select portions of the course, or cancel the event in order to ensure the safety of racers, volunteers and staff.
