Personal information We will be sending the participant info to our timekeeper (Trumin) on April 8. That means you can edit your registration information in the RaceIT until April 8. After that, all participants will receive an email with a link to their personal data in the timekeepers’ system. This will let you edit your own information (for example, changing your start time). In addition, you will there find your personal liability waiver which you must print out, fill out completely and sign. You may change your information online through April 16. EXCEPTION: Team membership or team name can no longer be changed online. If you want to change teams, please send us an email at: [email protected] Participants who register after April 8 will receive the email with the link to their profile from our timekeeper no later than April 15. By the way, online registration is open until April 16 (6 pm) and everyone who registers will receive the email with the link to their profile from the timekeeper before the race. IMPORTANT: If you have used the same email address for your team or for a friend as you used for your own registration, please log in to the timekeepers’ system and give an individual email address for every starter. Otherwise not everyone will get the email with their link and will face a long wait at on-site registration. 2. Waiver and release As at every race, at this event you must also sign a liability waiver in which you recognize the risks of the event. Please follow the link in the email which you have received from us, and sign your online waiver after you have carefully read it. IMPORTANT: You must print out and sign your waiver, and bring it with you on race day when you pick up your start number. This will save you a lot of time, because without the printed waiver you cannot check in on our terminals, instead your personal information must be personally checked at a separate registration desk. Special information for Minors who will start the Spartan Sprint: Your liability waiver must also be signed by a parent or guardian, who must also be present when you pick up your start number. If this won't be possible, you can bring a statement signed by the parent or guardian, in which they state that you have their permission to start with recognition of the various risks which are described in the liability waiver. You must also bring a copy of a photo id from the parent or guardian to pick up your start number. Page 3 3. Checklist: What do I need to bring? Procedures at the scene - 10 steps to becoming a Spartan! Our registration at the Coubertinplatz will open at 7:30 a.m., and you can pick up your start number. Please arrive promptly at least one hour before your start, so that you have plenty of time to pick up your start number and check your bag. We have a lot of motivated helpers to make your day a super event, but we can't rule out that you may have to wait. Be sure that you arrive at the scene with enough time before your start that you do not miss your start wave. Once you get to the Courbertinplatz, you will follow these 10 steps to become a Spartan: 1) Go to the registration tent. 2) Have your photo id and your signed liability waiver ready. If you do not have your liability wiaver with you, you can fill out one here by hand and submit it. The regulations for minors is set out above. 3) Go to the registration stand that you have been directed to. Here you will receive your start kit with timing chip, start number, headband and armband. 4) You can change your clothes in the changing room tent on the grounds. 5) If you want, you can check your bag at our bag check and pick it up there again after the race. You will receive an additional armband for that, so that you can be identified as the owner of the bag. 6) Attach your start number with safety pins and wear your headband. Both are important for photos! Page 4 7) Fasten your timing chip to your shoe with the cable tie. Do not wear your chip anywhere other than on your shoe, so that your time can be taken. 8) If you want, you can have your start number written on your arms, face or leg at Bodymarking. 9) Be at the start area at least 20 minutes before your start time. 10) And off you go to fight like a Spartan! IMPORTANT: Every participant must pick up his or her own start number. It is not possible for one person to pick up the start numbers for an entire team, as every participant must be individually identified. 6. The race - As always, we say nothing about the course or the obstacles beforehand. But you should be aware of the following points: - Note your start time and be at the start area on time. We control the entry to the start waves, to make sure that everyone starts in the right wave. It is important that each wave contain only the number of starters that the course can support. - Some obstacles have their own rules. These are easy rules and usually are self-explanatory. We also have helpers on site to help you. - If you cannot complete an obstacle, you must instead complete 30 Burpees. There are no exceptions and no way around it! - There are marshals and helpers at every obstacle who pay attention that these rules are followed. It is up to you to complete your Burpees without being told to. If you do not do them, you will be disqualified. - Teamwork is basically allowed, but not at all obstacles. Our marshals will let you know when it is not allowed. They will also tell you the rules for support. - You only have one chance at some obstacles! So be sure to concentrate. Obey the Spartan Code! A Spartan pushes their mind and body to their limits. A Spartan masters their emotions. A Spartan learns continuously. A Spartan gives generously. A Spartan leads. A Spartan stands up for what they believe, no matter the cost. A Spartan knows their flaws as well as they know their strengths. A Spartan proves themselves through actions, not words. A Spartan lives every day as if it were their last. And you? #BornToBattle! Page 5 7. Rules for teams The following are the rules for teams: - Every team with at least 5 team members will automatically be included in the team rankings. You do not have to register extra for it. - In order to be ranked in the results, at least 5 team members must finish the race. - You must not all start in the same wave, but can start in different waves. Of course, you can appear better as a team if you all start in the same wave. - A team can consist of both sexes or only of one. There is only one team ranking, no distinction is made between the sexes. - Decisive for the team ranking is the finishing time of the fifth team member. The best individual starter is not important, but rather how the team as a collective brings the fifth team member to the finish as quickly as possible. 8. Provisions at the race We wil provide you with the most important substances after the race. Exactly what a Spartan needs – water and something to eat. You can also provide yourself with bars, gels and “camel bags” (drink backpacks). But remember that you don’t want to carry too much weight with you when you tackle the obstacles. After the race you will find a variety of food and drink to purchase from the Olympiapark caterer on the festival grounds. 9. After the race As soon as you cross the finish line you receive your well-deserved Spartan medal! If you have also earned the Trifecta medal with this race, then you will also receive this in the finish area. Then you can check with the timekeeper to see your personal race time. From there you can go the shower and get rid of the worst of the dirt. Change your clothes and either before or after that, pick up your finisher's shirt. For this you will need the armband that you received at the registration. Pick up your bag from our bag check. Enjoy your accomplishment, you have earned it! And if that is not enough, prove yourself at our Festival Challenges! page 6 10. Results Your time will be measured through the timing chip which you receive at registration. You can see your time and the results immediately after the race at our timekeeper. After the race, the results will all be checked again and then officially published on our website. You can check your result and time there whenever you want. Important! Be sure to throw your timing chip in the designated container directly after the finish line. If you have registered with a team, then in addition to your individual time, you will probably also be in the team ranking. This ranking includes every team with at least five members who finish. The results are based on the time of the fifth team member to finish. Together we are stronger. 11. Photos Two or three days after the race, you will receive an email with your personal link to see an assortment of your race photos. So be sure you look good for the photographer... IMPORTANT: Be sure that your start number and headband are both visible. That makes it easier for our photographers to identify you. 12.
