Internship — International Law and Policy Institute (ILPI)
ILPI´s Arms and Disarmament Programme is inviting applications for an internship at
the ILPI headquarters in Oslo for the period September - December 2015.
Deadline for applications is June 15, 2015.
The intern will be working as an integrated part of the arms-team at ILPI, with a
portfolio covering a range of different arms and disarmament issues.

As an intern with ILPI-ADP, you will be working with some of the foremost
disarmament and international humanitarian law experts in Norway, and you will be
given both responsibility and a space for learning and development. You will also
have the opportunity to write a short research paper on a relevant topic.
Tentative list of tasks:

Assisting with research and writing on arms and disarmament issues, contributing
in particular to ILPI´s Weapons of Mass Destruction project;

Assisting in the organisation of events such as roundtable meetings;
Participating in and reporting from meetings;
Updating databases, the project website and writing newsletters.
We are seeking someone with:
!
An academic background in security, peace/conflict, humanitarian and/or legal
studies. Knowledge of arms and disarmament issues, as well as international
humanitarian law, is an advantage.

Strong writing skills. Capacity to write clearly and succinctly.
!
The ability to work well in a small team.
Excellent command of English. Command of Norwegian preferred and
knowledge of other languages is an asset.
Please note that the internship is unpaid. We are looking for candidates that can work
full time, but we may be willing to consider reduced hours in specific cases.
Candidates are encouraged to obtain an internship agreement from their university,
showing that they will be given academic credit for the internship.
