All Junior Players Need to be Registered
Online to be eligible for Round 1
Registration of Junior Players - Junior Games commence April 24
& 26. For your child(ren) to be eligible to play in Round 1 they
must be fully registered online. This includes providing proof of
age for new players to the Club. If your child(ren) is/are not
registered online, this means they are not covered by insurance
and they WILL NOT be allowed to play in an official game.
There is still a substantial amount of players who are not registered online and/or provided proof of age. The cut off for online
registrations to be eligible to play in Round 1 is only 2 days prior
to the game. However, please do not leave registering your child
online to the last minute as we have been having problems with
the Registration site. The link to register your child can be found
either on the Club's Facebook page or Website, or if your child
was a registered player with us last year you should have received an email with your their own personal link to register. If
you’re having problems registering your child online please see
your Team Manager or Vanessa Harvey, Nicole Cross and Renae
Mitchell ASAP during training or call Renae on 0413 760 161.
Sports Voucher Rebate - The Government has introduced a $50
rebate to go towards registration fees for children who are in
grades reception-Year 7 at school. A claim form is required to be
completed for the Club to claim this on your behalf - details required include your Medicare Card number as well as what position on the card the child you are claiming for is. All players in
reception to grade 7, INCLUDING those who registered their
child(ren) early can claim this rebate. Please see Vanessa Harvey during training if you have any questions.

Rules for Parents/Spectators attending games Only Team Managers are allowed to approach Umpires - this includes before, during & after games. Any problems, address it with your Team Manager
During breaks - quarter time, half time and 3/4 time Parents of players U6-10 are allowed onto the Oval in the huddles/
provide players with drink, however no parents/spectators at games U11 up are allowed to do so. Drinks must be given
to Team Manager at the start of the game who will bring them out to the huddle. Players U11 up are not to leave the
field unless it is to go to the toilet or they are injured. Not leaving the field includes players are not allowed to go to parents to get a drink.
Code of Behaviour for Parents, Players, Spectators, Coaches & Officials, plus the League's Zero Tolerance Policy can be
found on the North Eastern Metro Junior Football Associations website - www.nemjfa.com.au
Divisions - Teams playing for points/finals, U11 up are put into divisions based upon the previous season's results. Previously our teams have played in the White division which is the lowest division. This Season, three of our teams have
been promoted to higher divisions - our U11 & U13 are in the Blue Division & U14 are in Red Division. The standard of
competition in the higher divisions is strong, and our teams playing up will be challenged alot more than if they were
still in White Division. The League will be assessing how our U11,13 & 14 go in the first three rounds of the Competition.
All teams playing for points need to be switched on from the first bounce of Round 1 - every game counts.
Team Manager required - due to having two U6 teams this year we are looking for a Team Manager for the second U6
team. If you can help with this role of which full support and training is provided, please see Renae Mitchell, Junior Delegate or call 0413 760 161. Positions must be filled before Round 1 or we will need to forfeit. We still have room in our
U6 teams for a few more players, so if you know of any 5 year olds or kids turning 6 this year, boys or girls please encourage them to come out and play for Angle Vale.
Parent Duties at Games - Team Manager's will be issuing parents a Roster for each game where parents are required
to help out to ensure games are run efficiently. These roles are vital and without parent help games may need to be
forfeited. Parents will usually only be rostered on for a particular duty once or twice a season. If you prefer a particular
duty please advise your Team Manager this week and they will try & accommodate your preference. If you are rostered
on to do a duty and can not fulfill it you must notify your Team Manager in advance & try to organise a replacement.
First Aid - if you hold a current First Aid Certificate we would like to hear from you! All teams require a First Aid Officer
to be on hand at games incase of injury. Please see your Team Manager asap if you can help.
The 2015 Fixture is due to be released April 17. This will be advertised on the Club's Facebook page & Website and you
will be provided with a hard copy the following week at training. Please note the fixture is subject to change - please
check newsletter, Facebook and/or Website for weekly updates of when and where your child's game will be.
Communication is vital to ensure everyone is up to date with the running of the club. Please ensure we have your correct email address & mobile number so we can stay in touch.
Go the Owls!

please see your Team Manager and upon payment she will issue your child with a guernsey to wear on the day - which
must be returned after the game. Whilst it is not compulsory for full uniform of black shorts and yellow socks to be worn
during trial games/carnivals it is strongly encouraged and with Round 1 commencing the week after (when full uniform
must be worn or the Club will be fined), now is the time to get shorts and socks of which can be purchased during trainings in the Club Rooms. Shorts are $25 & socks are $12.
If you have not advised your team manager if your child is available to participate in a game/carnival please let your
team manager know asap so we can know where we are at with numbers.

Introducing our Vice President
Hello everyone. After taking on the Vice President’s role a few weeks back, I thought it appropriate to introduce myself to
those that I haven’t met in person yet. After three years around the club with the juniors, I welcome the opportunity to get
to know the seniors, women and help the committee continue to shape the club toward success both on and off the field.
The start of my tenure has certainly been busy, and over recent weeks there has been a mountain of work to do in preparation for season 2015. Despite a few hurdles, the team lists are very well subscribed and the club is one of only a few that
has grown in numbers this season. With trial games now underway it's pleasing to see some good results, including a
strong win for the seniors to kick off the season.
Your committee has been working very hard in many other areas too. Sponsorship, incentives, merchandise, canteen and
memberships are just a few that come to mind and we hope to be able to bring you more details on some of these very
shortly.
Another focus area for the committee in 2015 is to continue promoting a 'One Club' philosophy. I encourage junior players
and parents to come out and support the senior men’s and women's teams on game day, and for the senior's and women
to get involved with the juniors too. Your continued support across all facets of football will contribute to the future
strength of the club.
None of what is being achieved could be done without the support of the many volunteers filling committee positions and
assisting with the many duties required on game days. Thank you to everyone that supports the club in these roles as it
takes up a great deal of personal time. I encourage everyone to help out if asked and share the load. I am pleased and excited to be part of the Executive Committee. The club has a bright future and continues to experience an increase in player
numbers and success both on and off the field.

Senior Men’s News
Round 1 has come and gone. Our lads took on Flinders Uni at home to kick off what is hoped to be a
good year for the Men’s Senior sides.
First off the Reserves came out and held it with
their opponent for the first half. Our lads moved
the ball around at times with good skills however
died towards the end of the game and eventually
went down 4-6-30 to 11-8-74. Tony Bax showed
enough to seek for a spot in the Senior side along
with Robin Wanganeen and Jarrod Weinert. Apart
from the loss it was a good start for the Reserves.
Our Senior side came out with more nerves than an
8 year old on Grand Final day...and it showed. The
first quarter was full of mistakes and sloppiness,
but the lads regrouped at quarter time and came
and started the second quarter off well. After half
time and given time to reflect on the first half the
boys showed there worth in the third term putting
on 13 goals to none. The final term saw Flinders
Uni flood our forward line and limiting scoring
shots, which at this time we became a little complacent. In the end it was a good win, there were
some good signs, but there is some work to be
done in every aspect of our game. We came out
winners scoring 30-22-202 to 1-7-13, standout
performances by Kym Schunke around the ground,
and Scott Burgess in the ruck with support by Adam Varcoe, Joel Oxenham and Adam Cummings.
Phillip Dudley booted 13 which is a new Senior
game record.
This week we once again are at home and take on
the unknown St Pauls OS. Although the Men had a
great win, it’s only Round 1. We came away with
the 2 points and that’s all that game meant. Get to
training, work on our game and improve each
week.
