Update - Storm Damage to Sydney (Crewe place) office
Who does this affect?
Some Department of Agriculture clients and stakeholders
What has changed?
The Department of Agriculture, Sydney office (located at Crewe place Rosebery),
sustained water damage following thunderstorms on Saturday 25th April 2015.
The department has been working to restore services to their Sydney office over the
last 2 weeks. Effective Monday 11th May 2015, some changes, in accordance with those
outlined below, will be introduced in recognition of infrastructure limitations.
1) Sydney office is closed to the general public due to the extent of damage. It is
expected the office will reopen for clients on Wednesday 13th May 2015.
2) Inspections of commercial air and sea freight will not be undertaken at the Sydney
office until further notice. Goods requiring inspection will be directed to
Quarantine Approved Premises appropriately registered for the intended
goods. Staff will be deployed from the regional office to cope with the redirection of
goods to alternative premises.
3) Face to Face entry processing remains suspended. All face to face processing will
now be undertaken at Customs House, 10 Canal Road, Sydney Airport. Preferred
lodgement method for import documentation to be either through the Cargo Online
Lodgement System (COLS) or email.
4) All inspection booking requests are to made via email to
[email protected] using the ‘Request for Inspection Form’.
This form can be found on page 2 of Industry Notice 21-2015 or alternatively can
be emailed to the client upon request email to

The department is working with the building owner to promptly address and rectify
damage caused by the storm to return the office to full operations.
The department will continue to keep clients informed, particularly in the unlikely
event of further changes to our service. We ask for your forbearance during this time.
