HOOSIER TIRE ALLOTMENT FOR CHILLY WILLY 100
Super Late Model: The maximum tire allotment available for this event is as follows: eight (8) NEW Hoosier 10” 2040 tires.
Tires from previous Tucson Speedway events may be used, as long as the tires are the same codes supplied by Hoosier Tire for
use at Tucson Speedway. All Cars must race the Chilly Willy 100 on the four (4) tires they qualify on. Competitors may choose
to race qualifying heat races, dash for cash, and B & C features on other Hoosier 2040 tires (purchased from Tucson
Speedway), but must race the A-Feature on their qualifying tires.
Modified: Tire rule is the same as above with eight (8) NEW Hoosier 8” 970 tires mounted on 8” steel wheels.
QUALIFYING PROCEDURE
The decision of what constitutes an official qualifying attempt shall be at the discretion of the Tucson Speedway official in charge
of the event. Two consecutive qualifying laps, faster lap determines qualifying position. Adjustments or repairs may not be
made on the car after the car has taken the green flag at the start/finish line. Tucson Speedway reserves the right to have more
than one car engage in qualifying runs at the same time. Starting field for the “Chilly Willy 100” is limited to 24 starting positions.
Failure to present car in the order determined by officials will result in one (1) qualifying lap at the end of qualifying.
STARTING POSITIONS AND STARTING POSITION PROCEDURES
The following will be the procedure for determining eligibility for and assigning the starting positions for the 2015 Chilly Willy 100.
Top 8 qualifying times will be locked into the Chilly Willy 100, and will run the “Dash for Cash”; the “Dash for Cash” finish will
determine the first four (4) rows of the Chilly Willy 100. Qualifiers 9 and higher will race in heat races on Friday to determine
starting positions for the main events. Line ups of the heat races will be based off of qualifying times. The “Dash for Cash”/heat
races will be 20 laps, and the “B” Features will be 30 laps. The Chilly Willy 100 field will consist of 24 starting positions and a
promoters choice.

This event will be run in accordance with Tucson Speedway rules, the provisions of this entry form, special rules
applicable to this event and any amendment(s) made prior to the race date. In the event of a conflict between the
Tucson Speedway rules and the entry form, the Tucson Speedway race director’s decision will be final.
All cars must pass inspection before entering the track for practice and qualifying.
Radios and spotters are required for this event.
ALL cars will be required to have a transponder at all times, if your car does not have a transponder you will not qualify
or be scored. You can purchase or rent transponders from Tucson Speedway. Transponders will be located 24” Back
from the center of the rear axle to the leading edge of the transponder on right rear of car.
No Truck Arm Cars allowed.
Bodies

Bodies must be fiberglass or aluminum; all bodies must maintain original dimensions. The body must be installed in a
professional manner and meet manufactures guidelines. No exotic wedge type or homemade bodies allowed.
Minimum 47” roof height required, measured 10” back from top edge of the front windshield. Minimum 4” frame height
clearance without driver. Maximum 46” from center of spindle to front of nose (front overhang). Maximum 35” quarter
panel height at rear panels. Maximum 15” ground clearance at rear bumper cover.
Rear spoiler height may not exceed 6-1/2” and may not exceed the maximum length of 60” wide. The maximum width of
the spoiler will be measured across the rear of the spoiler.
No under car panning outside of frame rails and no further then the drivers’ box front or rear.

Tires and Wheels (Super Late Model)

Hoosier 2040 is the only tire permitted. Soaking, softening, or otherwise altering the composition of tires is not
permitted. Tires may be replaced after practice. Cars must start the Chilly Willy 100 on the same tires on which they
qualified. Only steel wheels with a maximum width of 10” are permitted.
No bleeder valves allowed.
Blowers and/or ductwork for the purpose of cooling tires are prohibited. Brake Blowers are allowed.
Track Width/Wheel Base
•
•
Maximum track width permitted is 68”, front or rear; measured at spindle height on the inside wheel bead of the right
wheel and at the outside wheel bead of the left wheel.
Minimum wheel base of 101”. All wheelbase measurements will adhere to the 1/2 “plus or minus on the opposite side.
Engine and Weight Rules
•
Option 1 - ASA legal crate motor (with official’s approval) 2850lbs and 58% maximum left side weight.
1. Supplemental information regarding the use of the 604 crate motor:
a. Carburetor: 650 CFM gauge legal maximum. 1”spacer between carburetor and intake will be allowed.
b. Ignition systems will be limited to 6600 rpm. All other requirements for ignition systems in the rule book apply.
c. Approved aftermarket harmonic balancers and pulleys will be allowed.
d. 1.5 or 1.6 aluminum roller rocker arms are allowed.
e. GM 12499224 Beehive valve springs are allowed.
f. The 6.5” aftermarket oil pans allowed.
•
Option 2 - Tucson Speedway Engine & Carburetor (approved by officials) 2900 lbs and 58% maximum left side weight.
1. Engines may be interchanged with any approved body. Only cast iron engine blocks permitted and must retain all
stock external dimensions.
2. Maximum engine displacement is 366 cubic inches including wear.
3. Maximum engine compression ratio is 11.1:1.
4. Any aluminum piston may be used with a minimum of three (3) rings per piston is required.
5. Titanium valves and valve spring retainers permitted but no other titanium is permitted in the engine.
6. Cylinder heads may be cast iron or aluminum. GM type engines must have no less than 23 degree of valve angle
as measured from the crankshaft centerline. There are no restrictions on valve size. The valve stem centerlines
must remain in the OEM location and dimension of the heads being used.
7. Any magnetic steel roller or flat tappet camshaft is permitted.
8. Independent stud, roller-tip rocker arms, stud girdles and split shaft rocker arm assemblies are permitted.
9. Only standard magnetic steel or cast iron production design crankshafts will be permitted. If aftermarket crankshafts
are used, they must be designed and manufactured the same as an OEM crankshaft for the approved standard
production engine. Stroke may be increased or decreased and balancing is permitted.
10. Connecting rods must be solid, magnetic steel. Aluminum, titanium, stainless steel or hollow rods are not permitted.
11. Engines may use a wet sump or dry sump oiling system. An accusump type auxiliary type oil reserve is permitted.
12. The oil pan must have an inspection plug with a minimum diameter of one (1”) on the driver’s side allowing visibility
of the crankshaft and connecting rods. (Moroso part # 23970 is recommended).
13. Any cast, one piece intake manifold may be used.
14. An approved one piece carburetor adapter/spacer with a maximum of 1.000” inch thickness may be installed
between the intake manifold and the carburetor.
15. A one piece, paper gasket, maximum thickness 0.065” inch that matches the exterior dimensions of the carburetor
throttle plate and must be installed between the adapter and the carburetor and a second gasket of the same size
and dimensions must be installed between the adapter and the intake manifold.
16. Any alterations to allow air to be introduced into the engine below the opening of the carburetor venturi is not
permitted.
17. You may use either a 4 barrel (4150HP, Model # 80507) carburetor or 2 barrel (Holley 4412, Model # 3240) with this
option.
18. A Holley 4150HP Series Model # 80507 (4) barrel carburetor may be used with a minimum weight of 2900 lbs.
a. The only approved modifications apply to both carburetors are as follows:
1. The choke airhorn may be removed with a square mill cut.
2. The butterflies may be drilled with one (1) idle hole each.
3. The choke and linkage may be removed, but holes must be permanently filled.
4. No polishing, grinding, coating or drilling of holes permitted in the carburetor body.
5. Screw in air bleeds are permitted.
6. Keith Dorton Carburetor Part # 0-80583-1 not permitted.

7. Butterfly screws may be replaced with pan head type screw.
8. Venturi area must be as cast and not altered in any manner.
9. Base plate cannot be altered in size, shape or finish.
10. Throttle shafts must remain standard and cannot be thinned, cut or altered in any manner.
11. Accelerator pump system is open.
12. Power valves, metering blocks and floats may be modified.
b. In addition to the above modifications, below are rework guidelines for the 4150 HP: (under advisement)
1. Boosters: 0.620 OD minimum – 0.450 maximum
2. Tube: 0.218 minimum
3. Venturi: 1.0625 maximum
4. Base plate: 1.4375 maximum
5. Base plate Thickness: 0.715 minimum
6. Throttle shaft: 0.200 minimum
c. Any carburetor modifications not specifically covered in these rules will not be permitted.
d. If a Holley 4412 (model #3250), 2 barrel carburetor is used your minimum weight may be 2850 lbs.

Option 3 - NASCAR Elite Division Engine and 2900 lbs. and 58% maximum left side weight (this includes SRL legal with
390 Carb).
•
Option 4 - USLMA engine With 390 Carb (as detailed) 3000lbs. and 58% maximum left side weight.
•
Option 5 - GM CT525 LS3 Circle Track Crate Engine 2950lbs. and 58% maximum left side weight.
1. Maropulos Racing Engines (MRE) 805-520-4899; 4930 Leeds St., Simi Valley, CA 93063. MRE is the only
approved supplier to provide a completed spec engine package. The GM LS3 CT525 completed engine from MRE
includes engine and approved components (excluding exhaust headers and clutch) and can be purchased for
$11,500 plus sales tax.
2. Competitors may also purchase the GM LS3 CT525 base engine from any approved GM Performance Parts dealer /
supplier with MRE supplying and installing the completed package components.
3. Spec engine specifications and requirements are as follows:
a. GM LS3 CT525 6.2L racing engine P/N 19171821. The base engine is rated at 525hp and 471 lb-ft of torque
using aluminum block, high-flow LS3 rectangular-port head cylinder heads and includes a carburetor intake manifold
and a 6-quart racing oil pan.
b. 650 Holley 4bbl carburetor P/N Hly-0-80541-2 (no modifications)
c. Ignition controller P/N 19171130 set at 6600 RPM MAX.
d. Holley electric fuel pump (P/N Hly-12-802-1 must be wired with double relay wiring harness with oil pressure
safety switch to ensure fuel pump will shut off when engine is not running.
e. Howe header P/N H11209 is the only approved header package for use with this engine.
f. No close ratio transmission may be used to circumvent the gear rule.
g. No coating on any internal engine surface or components, including but not limited to ceramic or Teflon.

Performance air filter and housing permitted but must not protrude through the hood. No tubes, funnels or any device
which may control the air flow are permitted inside or outside of the air cleaner or between the air cleaner and the
carburetor. Cold air boxes are permitted.
ASA Legal Engines are allowed provided that they meet ASA rules. Some specific remanufactured engines (McGunegill)
may be subject to additional weight penalty by Officials discretion.
No operator controlled, computer controlled, or automatic weight transfer, weight shifting devices or techniques will be
allowed. No engine, chassis, or shock adjustments are allowed from the driver’s compartment. (Compartment is defined
as anything the driver can touch while seated in the driving position).
Engines must be located so that the forward most spark plug hole is within 2” of the center line of the upper ball joints.
Firing order of engine must maintain OEM firing order and rotation.
Crankshaft must be centered within 1” of the vehicle’s frame rails.
Minimum clearance between the center of the crankshaft and the ground must be 10”.
Tucson Speedway officials reserve the right to adjust those weight advantages/penalties in the interest of fair
competition.
All weights are taken with driver in the car, and both hands on the steering wheel, prior to qualifying and prior to feature
event.
Left side weight may not exceed 58%. Tucson Speedway scales will be the only method for determining a car’s weight.

Carburetor

A minimum of 2 throttle return springs are required and must be mounted from separate locations.
Maximum gasket thickness is .065”.
No tubes, funnels or anything which may control the flow of air is allowed inside of the air cleaner or between the air
cleaner and the carburetor. No forced air devices are allowed.
A fresh air deflector will be permitted (if not utilizing a cold air system) from the center of the leading edge of the
windshield directly under the cowl air opening in the hood. The deflector will not exceed 20” in width and will be centrally
located on cowling. The top and bottom of the air filter housing must be solid and must be the same diameter. A
maximum of a one inch lip will be permitted from the air filter element to the edge of the air filter housing top and bottom.
Only one round dry paper type air filter element is permitted. No treating or soaking air filters.
No electric fuel pumps will be allowed.
One carburetor stud and one intake manifold bolt on the right side of the engine must be drilled so that the engine can
be sealed.
Fuel

All cars must use Tucson Speedway approved fuel. No additives of any kind.
Fuel must be purchased from Tucson Speedway fuel station.
Pit Area Parking & Rules

Pit area parking will be on a first come first served basis; pre-registered participants can park early on Friday, February
6th.
A dry camping area will be set up for RV’s (no charge).
Trailers may be left in the pit area overnight. The pit area will be secured each night of the event.
Pit area speed limit is 5 mph for ALL vehicles.
One tow vehicle is allowed in the pit area, all additional vehicles must be parked outside the pit area.
All minors must have a signed minor’s release, and pay for pit entry prior to entering the pit area.
No pets allowed in the pit area.
Tech Inspection

All cars must go through tech inspection prior to going on to the track for practice. All competing cars will declare their
engine combination to the tech department and the vehicle weight will be recorded. The vehicle must adhere to the
specifications of such declaration. The tech department reserves the right at any time to verify engine/weight
combinations.
Once you have completed the initial tech inspection, you will not be required to go through tech until prior to qualifying
and prior to the features. All cars are subject to tech inspection before and/or after qualifying and racing.
Scales will be set up all weekend for your use in reaching your proper weight for the event.
Post feature tech will be required for the top 5 finishers and any randomly selected competitors.
