We are inviting group entries for our new look Global Canvas competition. This year we are asking groups (your class, year or school) to interpret this year’s theme ‘We can heal our World’. Each group’s entry should be created to fill wall space 6x6ft and a table 6ftx2ft. Be as creative as you can using art, poetry, sculpture and words to create your own mini-exhibition. Set your exhibition up at school and submit a photograph of your entry along with any poetry as word documents plus 200 words describing how you have interpreted the theme. The shortlisted winners will be chosen from the photographic submissions only and the successful groups invited to recreate their display at the Natural History Museum between 10-12am on the morning of the event on 19th March. Judging to select the final 3 winners will take place between 12-1pm with the guest speakers talk and prize giving between 1-2.30pm. Age Groups: Open to everyone under 16 (Whether you do it by class, year or whole school - the choice is yours) Entry fee: £20.00 per group submission DEADLINE EXTENDED - Photo and entry details should be submitted by 10th Feb 2015. 15 group entries from across all age ranges will be shortlisted and exhibited at the Natural History Museum in London on March 19th 2015 and will be judged on the day by DSWF and the guest speaker. Each shortlisted entry will receive a prize with the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places chosen from the exhibited shortlist. Terms and Conditions * Each entry must comprise the work of children all of whom are under 16 years old * There will be a charge of £20 per entry * Each entry must interpret the theme “We can heal our World” * DEADLINE EXTENDED - all entries must be received by email by 10th February 2015 * Payment for all entries can be made either by cheque made payable to ‘DSWF’ (please include the name of the group / school you are paying for) or online at: http://www.davidshepherd.org/help-us/donate/ selecting ‘Global Canvas Competition’ from the drop-down menu and letting us know the name under which your payment has been made * All shortlisted finalists will receive a group prize * First, second and third prizes will also be awarded * The decision of the judges will be final * All shortlisted entries will be displayed on our website from mid-Feburary 2015 * It is the responsibility of the shortlisted winners to ensure that all materials for their display are brought to and set up at the Natural History Museum between 10-12am on March 19th and removed after the event. * Once shortlisted all the overseas shortlisted winners must ensure that their work reaches the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation offices (address below) in time for the David Shepherd team to set up the display as per the submitted photo entry. * Representatives from the shortlisted winners should prepare a 3 minute presentation about their entry and be prepared to deliver it to on the 19th March if they are awarded 1st, 2nd or 3rd place. This should be delivered by a representative of the group. * Entries will be judged on the creative interpretation and presentation of the theme. * Any groups shortlisted for the event and final judging will be allocated 12 places. These can be made up of participating students, teachers and / or parents. Numbers are strictly limited by the capacity of the Flett Theatre.
