To be eligible to vote, you must meet all of the following requirements: a. Be 18 years of age or older. b. Be one of the following: residential tenant, residential owner occupant, business or investment property owner, or represent a community organization within the boundaries and qualifying areas for DCPC. (See map at right .) c. Have proof of eligibility. See point 5. 2. You may only vote for: a. Your category (e.g., residential tenant). b. Your neighborhood (e.g., East Village). c. You may also vote for any open community organization seat. Note: Businesses and community organizations can assign only one person to represent the entity as a voter, except for partnerships in which each partner has voting rights. 3. How do I register?  You may either bring this form and proof of eligibility to the polling place when you vote, or pre‐register by submitting both to [email protected] by 6:00 pm on Friday, March 13. 4. How do I familiarize myself with the candidates? • Attend the Candidates’ Forum event on March 16 @ 6:00 pm at the Lyceum Theater (Horton Plaza, 79 Broadway Circle) to hear candidate speeches. • Read candidate bios by visiting http://dcpcsd.com/elections/. 5. How do I prove my eligibility? When you register, provide one item from Group A and one item from Group B. Residential Tenants Group A: California driver’s license or picture identification card AND Group B: Utility (other than water) bill, lease or rental agreement or receipt, Housing Commission or rental assistance contract, or written letter from landlord verifying occupancy. Residential Owner Occupants Group A: California driver’s license or picture identification card AND Group B: Deed of trust or property, property tax bill, sales contract, mortgage payment contract or book, or current County Assessor property owner listing. Business or Investment Property Owners (includes non‐
resident property owners) Group A: California driver’s license or picture identification card AND Group B: Business license (not professional license), certificate of incorporation, articles of incorporation, deed of trust, property tax bill, current County Tax Assessor listing or property owner listing. Community Organization Representative A Community Organization means any nonprofit association of persons and/or entities that has its headquarters, a satellite office or a substantial number of constituents/service‐recipients within the Downtown Community Plan Area boundaries. For this particular election, the open seat is for a Community Organization that is deemed to be a charitable entity.
