Departure from the summit of the Saulire on a mountain bike, over 2700 metres above sea-level, with, above all, a matchless view of the mountains and the descent awaiting the participants. Kourch Lanta: attacking the Rosière - 13 July This large-scale nature game takes place around Lake Rosière in Courchevel Moriond. Reserved for children and teenagers aged from 7 to 14, Kourch Lanta blends orientation skills, strategy and speed of movement. All through the afternoon, the adventurers cross the Rosière site in every direction, and only the most resistant, or the smartest, will win! Rankings are also made according to age. Courchevel X-TRAIL 2015 1, 2 and 3 August The Courchevel X-trail is the chance to surpass yourself with a 54 km race (11 cols and 2 summits), the trail of the Dent (20 km of wild and abrupt terrain), the express trail (9 km), the youth trail, the hiking trail across a glacier over 3000m above sea-level and, finally, the unusual sprint on the ski-jumping hill known as X-Race 120. new in Courchevel: 1st KM Vertical on Saturday 1st August: 2030m of non-stop uneven terrain, far from the ski lifts. A vertical race for those who love to find themselves deep in nature, alternating a very steep single track and short flat terrain to regain momentum. The lowest point of the ascent is the passage across the “wall” 1km from the finishing line with its 80% section. It starts at the bottom of the valley and finishes at the Rocher de Plassa 2865 m above sea-level. Frappadingue - 23 August If you like a challenge, if you want to test your limits and push yourself while having fun, the Frappadingue is the event for you. The participants face up on a 12 km circuit covered with obstacles: ladders, rope bridges, netting to climb, hay bales, tubes to get through and fords to cross. Mountain biking If you want to discover the riches of the environment differently, a large number of mountain-bike circuits criss-cross the villages of Courchevel as well as the forests and the alpine pastures. On your own or in organised groups, on an electric bike or with only your own stamina, the routes are adapted to the participants’ level. You can choose between an itinerary with a rapid descent or a gentler ride to relax and explore the region. Golf At the foot of the Saulire, on the banks of Lake Verdons, each year this 9-hole course attracts fans of technical and uneven terrain. Retailers sell off their collections at great low prices. Via Ferrata The via ferrata itineraries are within the scope of any good walker who is not afraid of heights. In Courchevel, the via ferratas give access to a mountain walk along a signposted route equipped with cables and ladders, making progress along the mountain faces easier. To start with, a beginners’ circuit overlooks Lake Rosière. The walk then continues along the slabs, rock faces and ledges of the Croix des Verdons. This via is known as one of the highest and most beautiful in France, since it is one of the rare routes where the climb finishes at a summit. Beginners and experts can discover a unique site in three and a half hours. The departure and arrival are from the arrival point of the Saulire cable car. Escalade Do you feel like getting a new perspective on the mountains? Via ferrata and climbing are activities to discover or to enjoy again. To get to the summits and enjoy some great sensations, Courchevel’s fully equipped and protected climbing sites are adapted to all. The face of the Grande Val, in the Avals valley, is a particularly accessible site. Only 20 minutes on foot from the 1650 water reserve, the Spanish Road takes climbers to the foot of the mountain face. Around ten routes between 200 and 250 metres, from beginner to expert level, are there for you to discover. These fine routes, ranging from easy to difficult, enjoy great levels of sunshine, and the climb is made on a rock of exceptional quality. The great adventurer routes situated on the Pointe Emilienne, between Méribel and Courchevel, are genuine mountaineers’ climbing routes. The reward for those who reach the summit is a magnificent view of the summits all around. Lastly, you might like to try the highmountain routes and itineraries of the Portetta. Nicknamed “the little Dolomites”, the rock is exclusively made up of resurgences of dolomite, a particular form of limestone that is only present here and in Italy.
