This year’s meeting will provide in-depth updates on clinically important and controversial topics in reproductive medicine given by a distinguished panel of speakers. At the conclusion of this program, the participants will be able to: •Describe the impact of PCOS over the reproductive lifespan •Review the fundamentals of reproductive aging with the oocyte as the focus •Summarize different approaches to finding testis sperm in azoospermic men •Recognize how discoveries in the laboratory have informed clinical practice in IVF •Describe the evidence for the use of COH/ IUI and fast tracking to IVF in unexplained infertility •List the advantages and limitations of noninvasive prenatal testing using cell free DNA •Review the impact of the Affordable Care Act and other legislation on reproductive medicine •Develop an evidence-based approach to testing and treatment of recurrent pregnancy loss •Discuss the advantages of blastocyst culture and transfer in IVF treatment •Summarize strategies for managing the oncofertility patient •Identify key figures and milestones in the history of ART The 2014 conference begins Friday evening with the President’s Guest Lecture focusing on PCOS during the reproductive lifespan. Dinner is followed by a dessert reception honoring NEFS Past Presidents. Saturday morning will begin with talks on oocyte physiology and reproductive aging and on approaches to locating testis sperm in azoospermic men. You will hear about how IVF epitomizes translational medicine, and on the evidence for various treatments of unexplained infertility. Brief research summaries will be given by the NEFS/Ferring research grant awardees. After roundtable lunch discussions given by faculty, Saturday afternoon will feature lectures on first trimester prenatal testing and on the impact of the Affordable Care Act on reproductive medicine. Concurrent sessions will then take place: Concurrent Session I will showcase talks on recurrent pregnancy loss and on blastocyst culture/transfer, while Concurrent Session II - Nursing Symposium will feature talks on management of the oncofertility patient and on the history of ART. The conference will adjourn at 5:30 pm after a reception honoring meeting faculty and celebrating the 25th anniversary of the NEFS, allowing participants additional time to socialize with faculty speakers and to enjoy the amenities of the hotel and the surrounding Newport area.
