Bacteriophages—their role in engineering
and medical applications

Civil & Environmental Engineering

Dr. Ramesh Goel is an associate Professor of
Environmental Microbiology in the Department
of Civil & Environmental Engineering at the
University of Utah. His primary research interests include the application of molecular tools in
solving engineering as well as health related
problems. He researches in water sustainability,
microbiological quality of drinking water, water
quality of surface waters and bacteriophages.
Currently, he has been investigating the role of
bacteriophages in the environment. For example, he is looking into phage therapy for various
medical problems such as antibiotic resistant
bacteria. Under his hobby, he likes to cook and offer Indian cooking classes
for free.
