We start our journey in the Thredbo Alpine Hotel — follow the mighty Snowy River to its mouth at
Marlo — criss-cross the High Country, made famous by the movie ‘The Man from Snowy River’ —
visit ski resorts you have only heard of and traverse the Great Ocean Road to Warrnambool; before
finishing on the banks of the Murray River at Mulawi, on Anzac Day.
And
what a visual
feast you are in for!
The Desert Duel has now visited every state and Territory in Australia (plus NZ).
In 2015 — the 100th Anniversary of the Gallipoli landing — we will be going to Victoria, the forgotten
state! The state you pass through on your way to Tasmania!
Our 15Th Year
Anniversary!
The Desert Duel, now in its’ 15th year, is not a
race or a rally but a test of your navigational
skills and ability to follow instructions.
Entry fee for this event is $2,650 incl. GST per
person and includes 8 nights accommodation
and all meals bar 3 lunches. You are responsible
for ferry fee, museum entry, wildlife park and
golf fees, if applicable.
Bring your own 4WD vehicle or hire one
through Budget with the help of Scott Thomson
at a very special rate.
We have a sweep vehicle following the field
each day helping stragglers, emergency satellite
phone, entertainment and plenty of surprises
along the way.
There is no night driving (unless you get lost!).
Fancy dress night will be ‘Favourite TV show’
All funds raised will be distributed to nominated
charitable recipients as approved by Desert
Duellers.We invite all DDs to submit their
‘needy’ cause for consideration.
