Pelican Cove Paradise - Dewey Vacation Rentals

Pelican Cove Paradise Renter’s Guide Welcome Aboard ! We hope you enjoy the beach, the bay, and all the great offerings of Dewey and Rehoboth Beach. Please contact Harry or Jason at Dewey Vacations Rentals (302-‐227-‐6202) with questions or if you need anything. Following is some important information for your stay. -‐-‐-‐Dale & Sandy (Owners) Inspection – Please take a moment upon arrival to check for and report any damage by the previous renters to provide an opportunity to get things fixed as soon as possible and also to protect your security deposit. Check-‐In/Out – Check-‐In is 3-‐5pm and check-‐Out is 10am. These times permit cleaning between rentals. Luggage Cart – To help transport your luggage from your car, there is a cart kept at the water’s edge near the outdoor shower next to the Sandbox. Linens – All seven beds have two pillows, a mattress pad, and blanket. Please provide your own sheets and towels. Three 2nd floor bedrooms have a queen bed, the 1st floor bed room has one bunk bed with full over full mattresses and there is a queen sofa-‐bed and a full sofa-‐bed in the living room. Parking Spaces (3) – You can park in the 2 spaces labeled “Yeilding-‐Unit 7” in the Pelican Cove parking lot across the street. Please don’t park in the unit owner’s spaces labeled “Guests”. There is one Dewey seasonal parking permit you received at check-‐in which permits parking along the end of Read Street. Ensure the Dewey permit is returned to the office since a replacement would cost $200. Additional Dewey weekly parking permits can be purchased at the Dewey Town Hall on Rodney St. Wi-‐Fi – The wireless network is identified as “PC-‐Paradise” with a password, “deweywayoflife1037”. Printer – A network HP P1102w wireless printer is available with your supplied paper. Google and download the printer driver to your computer. Smart phones can also Air-‐Print to this printer. Sandbox – Enjoy our Bay beach with the other 6 Pelican Cove units. Please keep it clean. Enjoy outdoor dinners and sunset happy hour in the Sandbox where all the chairs & picnic tables are shared. Dock/Bay Swimming – You can swim on either side of our Sandbox beach, but please only use the shore-‐line beach off the Pelican Cove north bulkhead near the outdoor shower. The next-‐door neighbor viewed out the living room window does not permit swimmers to come onto her shore-‐line beach, where a spiked fence and sign identifies her property line. Using our steps to swim in front of this neighbor is ok; simply stay off the neighbor’s shore-‐line beach. Beach Chairs (7) -‐ Chairs are stored between rentals under the house in the crawl space. The entrance is outside, just to the right of the kitchen sliding glass door. During your stay you can store the chairs on the fence hooks just north of the house where a lock and cable will prevent theft, (combination “SANDY”). Avoid storing chairs around the house/yard, since it is unsightly for the other Pelican Cove residents. Four of the beach chairs have a safety hinge that snaps in place when opening. To unlock the safety hinge and close the chair, grasp the bottom of the front and rear legs and pull them together in a quick motion. Please return the chairs to the crawl space under the house at the end of your stay. Pelican Cove Paradise Renters Guide Air Conditioning – The digital control outside the bunkroom door can be adjusted to your convenience. Barbecue Grill – If you move the grill please return and lock the grill at the original location. Grill key is on the kitchen bulletin board. Extra propane tanks are located under the house in the crawl space. The entrance is outside just to the right of the kitchen sliding glass door. Please report if a tank is emptied. Telephone Landline (302-‐727-‐5858) – Phones are in the kitchen and master bedroom. The kitchen speakerphone/answering machine can be turned on or off. Dock – Any slip other than those with a motorized lift is available for your boat. See Delaware Department of Natural Resources for boating regulations. Maintain less than 5 mph near the dock. Children should not play on any boats nor touch any mooring lines. Fish/Crab Bait – Buy bait at Pier Point Marina, on the Bay a few streets south. String is available in the kitchen to tie chicken necks for crabbing off the dock. Cleaning fish is permitted on the dock but do not discard fish remains into the Bay where we swim. Adults need a fishing/crabbing license. TVs – Three TVs are located in the living room, bunk room and master bedroom. Bose Sound – The living room Bose sound system can play sound from either the Comcast cable, Internet-‐TV, DVD or music from your iPhone through the Bose Bluetooth adapter. TV-‐Living Room -‐ All four living room remote controls are stored in the blue seahorse box. The Bose remote is the only sound control for all the equipment. Volume buttons on other remotes are not functional. -‐

Please do not make connections to any other TVs. The living room TV is equipped with Sony PlayStation game streaming without the need to connect any equipment, if you have a Sony account and bring USB controllers. Reconnect cables upon your departure and verify the TV works. Gas Fireplace – The fireplace is not functional during the summer season. Window Washing – Our cleaning service is quite extensive but typically does not include the cleaning of the eight Rehoboth Bay windows in the living room and dining area. Due to the salt water environment and our close proximity to the Bay, these windows are hard to keep clean. A window-‐washing pole sponge/squeegee and bucket are available in the living room closet for you to use to improve your Bay and sunset views. Vertical Window Blinds – Please be careful opening and closing the vertical blinds. The chain must rotate the blinds before using the cord to open the blinds. Deck on 2nd Floor – Towels and clothes should not be hung to dry on the deck railings to maintain proper appearance. Deck furniture cushions are stored under the master bedroom bed. No Smoking – Please keep our house smoke free and properly dispose of any outside used tobacco products. Thank you for keeping the Sandbox, dock area and Rehoboth Bay cigarette butt-‐free. Occupancy – Dewey Beach municipal code permits 10 occupants (> 5yrs old) in Pelican Cove Paradise. Disorderly House – Dewey Beach municipal code has a rather restrictive ordinance on noise which is posted on the inside wall of the front closet. Please be considerate of your neighbors when playing music late at night, especially being watchful of loud, late-‐night conversations while in the Sandbox. PC-‐Paradise Diary – Please feel free to leave comments about your stay in our diary. Departure Instructions – Upon departure at the end of your stay, please set the thermostat to 78°, shut windows, turn ceiling fans off, return beach chairs to the crawl space, return deck cushions to under bed, bag and take all garbage to the dumpster, wash dishes, completely empty the refrigerator leaving no condiments, return key & parking permit to the office and write us a note in the PC-‐Paradise diary. -‐-‐-‐-‐ Hope You Enjoyed Your Stay!
