A Sample Day Schedule At Violin Voyages (Note: Sample is for the morning time session option) “BEACH DAY” (each day has a different theme) 9 - 9:15 am: Arrival, unpacking, and tuning 9:15 - 9:30 am: Welcome to the Beach (talk through the day's activities) and movement games without the violin - arm circles, "The Wave," and "Ocean Breath" 9:30 - 9:40 am: Violin Warmups: Strumming on the High Dot, Bow Rocking on the High Seas, Tall Violins with Ocean Animal Helpers 9:40 - 10:20 am: Violin Songs - Carnival in Rio (for Beach Day) and Review Songs (Jungle Dance, Star Wars, Macchu Picchu Mountain) 10:20 - 10:35 am: Break and Snack Time 10: 35 - 10: 45 am: Reading music notes on the board 10:45 - 11 am: Beach time - students lay on their beach towels with eyes closed and identify notes and rhythms by ear 11 - 11:45 am: Listening! Students will listen to the Fingal's Cave Overture by Mendelssohn and La Mer by Debussy while they work together to create a mural depicting the ocean as they hear it in the music. 11:45 am - 12 noon: Clean up and packing up!
