Dr. Hamisi M. Malebo received his Diploma in Education (Chemistry
& Biology) from Mkwawa Teachers College, Iringa, Tanzania in 1990;
Bachelor of Science with Education (Chemistry & Biology) from the
University of Dar es Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 1996; Master
of Science (Natural Products Chemistry) from the University of Dar es
Salaam, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in 2000; and PhD (Medicinal
Phytochemistry) by sandwich from Kenyatta University, Kenya and
University of Basel, Switzerland in 2009. Dr. Malebo also received
International Certificates in: Malaria Control from the Institute of
Parasitic Diseases in Shanghai, China in 2002; Advanced Certificate in
Translational Bioinformatics for Drug Discovery and Development
from Pasteur Institute in Tunis, Tunisia in 2010; Advanced Certificate
in Genetic Resources and Intellectual Property Rights organized by
SIDA in Uppsala, Sweden and Bangkok, Thailand in 2012/2013. He is
currently involved in R&D in Drug Discovery and Development;
Environmental Health & Technology; pharmaceutical quality
assurance and control (QA/QC); formulation and standardization of
phytopharmaceuticals; cosmetics and nutraceuticals; and
pharmaceutical production processes and technologies. He received
research awards and grants from DAAD (Germany), Basel Stipend
Commission (Switzerland), UNICEF (Tanzania), World Bank Water
and Sanitation Program (WSP), Global Fund against AIDS, TB &
Malaria (GFR-8), IFS (Sweden), SIDA (Sweden), Chinese Academy of
Sciences (China), Geita Gold Mine (GGM), SNV (Tanzania), Water Aid
(Tanzania), DFID (UK); JICA (Tanzania) and Malaria Medicine Venture
(Switzerland).
