Direct Energy Regulated Services Rider “F” Rates for ATCO Gas North
Service Territory for April 2015
Direct Energy Regulated Services (DERS) hereby submits a proposed rider “F” of
$2.919 per GJ for the month of April 2015 for the service territory of ATCO Gas North.
In compliance with AUC Decision 2011-456, DERS has added approved amounts for
certain energy costs and margin to the GCFR to formulate Rider “F”. The DGA package
used to derive the GCFR of $2.832 per GJ is attached.
Additional price and weather data relating to February and March can be found in
Appendix B. DERS has also included M Schedules in excel format.
On February 12, 2015, ATCO Gas notified stakeholders that with the recent
enhancements to its Imbalance Reporting Information System (IRIS), all retailers will be
transitioned to a single retailer account effective April 1, 2015.
DERS intends to file a single rate application to the Commission in the near future,
however, a decision on this pending application is expected to take some time. On an
interim basis, DERS proposes to use the methodology outlined below to allocate North
and South regional costs.
ATCO Gas will continue to provide Daily Forecast Settlement System data in IRIS on a
North and South basis. This means that DERS can continue to break down any
imbalances between North and South based on the back cast of initial estimated gas
consumption (B1). While this will entail incremental effort, DERS deems this to be the
most reasonable method for breaking down the North and South regional costs.
DERS will continue to use the above allocation of costs until a decision on its pending
