We believe nursery, and indeed childhood, should involve lots of fun, play,
meeting new friends and developing a keenness to learn. The nursery has
a well-equipped garden and we are also lucky enough to be within walking
distance to the beach, Pirate Park and the library. A world of discovery at our
doorstep!
We offer 15 hours per week of free childcare during term time for 3 & 4 year
olds, under the Free Early Education Entitlement Funding (FEEE) government
scheme. This is also available for eligible 2 year olds.

Our nursery
Discovery Day Nursery is passionate about providing a child-focused learning environment
that offers a wide range of activities and experiences that meet all areas of the Early Years
Foundation Stage (EYFS) programme.
The three different themed rooms are equipped to meet the needs of your child through
their progressive stages of development.
LITTLE EXPLORERS (3M – 2 YEARS)
This big, bright room offers a stimulating
space for our youngest children to explore.
Our aim is to provide a warm, safe and stable
environment that will stimulate and nurture
the needs of our youngest children. This
room benefits from having a separate sleep
room with cots.
LITTLE INVENTORS (3-5 YEARS)
Our pre-school room offers the children
plenty of opportunities to develop their
individual learning styles and skills as we
prepare them for the transition into school.
The children have access to a computer,
interactive whiteboard, French lessons and
Dance classes.
LITTLE ADVENTURERS (2-3 YEARS)
This colourful and inviting room dedicated
to our 2-3 year olds is a gentle step up from
our baby room, with emphasis on learning
through play. With lots of language and
creative activities on offer, the children
benefit from having a slightly more
structured daily routine. This room offers its
own changing room to support toilet training.
GARDEN
Our garden is an extension of the nursery
and provides a safe and secure area for the
children to enjoy. With a tree house, water
wall and mud kitchen, the opportunities
for their imaginations are endless.

like each team member to be based in
a specific room as this lends itself to the
structure and routine which is important
for continuity of care.
We will develop a strong relationship with
both you and your child, starting with
our settling in sessions and following the
journey throughout the nursery. Offering a
key worker system strengthens this bond
between home and nursery, ensuring that
the care and provision is tailored to meet
the individual needs of all our families.

We offer lots of different activities,
from messy play to language activities,
construction to walks, number games to
beach school. Our whole week is full of
fun, laughter, love and learning.
Healthy eating is vital to a child’s
development. Our on-site chef carefully
plans our menus to reflect a balanced
diet, which will provide your child with
the energy and nutrition they require to
enjoy their day with us.
