right. Please be on time. We will not wait for anyone.
Lunch 12:00PM: A traditional Mexican lunch
consisting of beans, rice, and cactus salad will be
provided by the Corazón family. You will also have
the opportunity to learn more about Corazón at this
time.
Review & Departure: 6:20 – 6:30AM: There will be a
brief project day review and safety talk. Rotarians will
be instructed to board the bus. If you have expertise
or special skills that might be relevant, please talk to
the Lead Builder.
Resume Work 1:00PM: Follow instructions of Lead
Builder to ensure successful completion.
The Caravan to Mexico: The caravan will stay
together and wait for any cars that are instructed to go
through secondary inspection. Corazón staff
members will greet the caravan in Mexico.
Arrival at Site 7:30AM: The Lead Builder will go over
safety and building procedures. Your safety is VERY
important to us.
Stick to the plan - For safety, timeliness, and
consistency, all volunteers must follow instructions
and procedures of the Lead Builder and Corazón. The
house builds are a standardized process that must be
followed to ensure the success of the build.
Closing Ceremony 4:30PM: The family will receive
the keys to their home and house warming gift during
this time. Make sure you don’t miss this memorable
experience!
Departure 5:00: You will board the bus and head to
the US Border Crossing in Otay. Again, you will be
asked to get off the bus, along with your belongings.
The bus will be available on the US side to drop you
off. Passports are required to cross the border.
Survey: Corazón values your opinion and would like
to invite you to take our brief survey that will be
emailed to you and should take no more than 15
minutes of your time. Please complete our survey to
improve our services and future experiences.
