Indian Foundation want to help you present something meaningful to the special

As you know, we showcase crafts from an area where unemployment rises well
over 50%. Sales not only provide much needed employment, they give dignity
and self-sufficiency to our families, but the proceeds go back into the charitable
programs here at Southwest Indian Foundation.
We shout from the adobe rooftops that our goods are extremely well made for a
very fair price. We strive to offer unique merchandise, much of the time handmade,
and by artisans that help maintain skills and a culture that should be preserved. We
are the real deal!
Sales from this special Mother’s Day offer will go towards replacing the roof on the
Women’s Battered Families Shelter right here in Gallup. The roof is damaged and
leaking profusely. Our goal is to have the roof repaired before the monsoons come.
Good Native Mothers and children live under that roof. Our goal is make a better
and safer place for our vulnerable mothers and their children.

For many years Sleeping Beauty Turquoise has
been considered one of the highest quality
turquoise in North America. The Navajos have
a long tradition and were among the first
to mine the precious stone. Their centuriesold method from long ago was to use hot
coals to heat boulders containing turquoise
before splashing them with cold water. The
sudden temperature change would cause
the stone to fracture, exposing the prized
turquoise underneath.

ocean coast. A young man fell in love with her. One
day he lost his temper, and abused and hurt her terribly.
Abalone wept into the ocean and the beautiful colors of
