Information is for XBOX Edition only Redstone & Transportation Rails (also known as Minecart Tracks) are non-solid blocks that provide a path along which minecarts can travel. Broken sections of rails are commonly found in abandoned mine shafts. Rails are crafted from sticks and iron ingots. The Powered Rail is a block that is used to stop or increase momentum of moving minecarts. Powered Rails are operated by Redstone currents, whether this comes from a Redstone Torch, a Lever, a Button, another circuit or a Detector Rail. A Detector rail when any kind of Minecart is on top of the Detector Rail, it will generate a redstone signal. The signal will be transmitted to blocks that are adjacent to the detector (including Powered Rail) and redstone placed under the rail, like pressure plates. Ladders are wooden blocks used for climbing walls either vertically or horizontally. They can only be placed on the sides of other blocks. Minecarts are rideable entities placed on rails that can be used to carry items, mobs, and the Player. They are used as a form of transportation to cover long distances, since they are much faster than walking. Copyright © 2013 by Alymuhammad Gilani First Edition Do not quote magazine. Information is for XBOX Edition only Minecarts with Furnace (also called Furnace Minecarts or Powered Minecarts) are a special type of minecart which accepts coal or charcoal as fuel for powered movement and can be used to push other minecarts, thus functioning as an engine. Minecarts with Chests (also called Chest Minecarts or Storage Minecarts) function like a minecart while being able to store and transport goods. A boat is an item and vehicle entity. Boats float and move easily on water, and can be ridden, so they allow fast transportation in Ocean Biomes or any large area of water; however they are quite fragile and easily destroyed by running aground. A Door is a block obtainable through crafting and found in NPC Villages and Strongholds. Doors come in two varieties: wooden doors made from planks, and iron doors made from iron ingots. Doors are hinged at a corner and have two states: rotated clockwise and rotated counterclockwise. An Iron Door is only able to be toggled by a switching mechanism. Iron doors can take quite a bit of time to destroy, even with a pickaxe. To destroy them more quickly, simply break the block beneath the door. A Dispenser is a special redstone-powered block. When right-clicked, a menu allows you to place items inside it. Each time the block receives power from a redstone circuit, a random item from its inventory drops out. Information is for XBOX Edition only A Note Block is a block that plays a single note when struck by the player or powered by redstone. An indefinite number of note blocks can be connected this way to form music. Pistons are blocks capable of pushing most blocks, depending on the direction they are facing. Sticky Pistons are similar to the Piston; the difference is that it can pull blocks as well as push them. TNT (trinitrotoluene) is a highly destructive block that, once activated, creates an explosion. TNT is usually recommended as a quick and efficient method for destroying large portions of undesirable blocks or structures. A lever is a type of switch. Levers, like the button, pressure plate, and redstone torch, can be connected with redstone wire to be operated far away from the target block. Levers can be placed on any opaque block. Levers can be placed on walls, floors, and ceilings. A button is a switch. Like levers, pressure plates, and tripwire hooks, it sends a redstone signal to adjacent blocks when pressed. However, a button can only be activated by being pressed and will only stay pressed for a short duration. Also, you can make a wooden button too. If connected by wire to an object (or placed adjacent to a block that can be powered), they will provide power to that object or block when stepped on by either a player or a mob. There is also a wooden one available also. A redstone torch is special block in Minecraft that interacts with Redstone. It has several functions in redstone circuitry, but the primary purpose is to act as a power source. A Redstone Repeater is a special block that interacts with Redstone. It has three main functions: acting as a repeater, a diode, and a delayer. Most likely, the reason they are called 'Redstone Repeaters' is for their primary use of repeating signals, since Redstone only travels up to 15 blocks without a signal booster. This can be very useful, as fish are an unlimited resource. The bow is a ranged weapon that shoots arrows. The bow allows the player to kill mobs and other players from a greater distance than melee weapons like the sword. Arrows provide ammunition for bows and dispensers, and can either be crafted or found as a common drop from skeletons. Flint and steel is a tool used to place fire. It may be crafted or traded for with villagers. The Fire Charge is an item which can be used as fireball ammunition for Dispensers, or as an inefficient substitute for Flint and Steel. When fired it acts exactly like a blaze's fireball. It can be useful if you're stuck in the Nether without any iron ingots or Flint and Steel. Clocks (sometimes called watches), are items that display the current in-game time by displaying the sun and the moon's position relative to the horizon. Information is for XBOX Edition only Shears are a tool used to obtain wool from sheep, collect Red Mushrooms from Mooshrooms, get string from cobwebs, destroy wool blocks more efficiently, harvest placeable leaf, vine, fern, dead bush, or tall grass blocks, and safely remove tripwire. Compasses were added in the Seecret Friday Update 9 on September 10, 2010. The compass needle points towards the player's original spawn point, whether in your inventory screen, in chests, lying on the floor, or while holding it in your hand. The Map is an item used to view explored terrain. While a map is being held in the player’s hand, it will gradually be drawn as the player explores the world. When the item is later selected, the player can see the area explored so far. In the Xbox 360 Edition, The Player spawns with a map in their inventory upon creating a new world. This picture shows all the armor pieces that are in the Xbox 360 Edition. Every item is craftable except the middle one, can be only obtained in chests (like in villages and strongholds), or by villager trading which is not in the Xbox 360 Edition as of yet. The items can be crafted from Leather (Brown), Gold (Gold), Iron (White), and Diamond (Turquoise). The crafting recipes of the armor are shown below corresponding with the crafting grid. Information is for XBOX Edition only Swords are craftable weapons used to damage mobs or other players, or to block attacks. Swords can also destroy certain blocks more quickly than any other tool (such as cobwebs). Attacking a boat or a minecart with a sword will destroy it faster but will not decrease the sword's durability. Shovels are auxiliary tools used to ease the process of collecting dirt, sand, gravel, clay and snow. Shovels are only necessary to collect snowballs from snow; all other blocks for which shovels are useful can be successfully harvested by hand. Pickaxes are one of the most commonly used tools in the game, being required to mine all ores and many other types of blocks. Different qualities of pickaxe are required to successfully harvest certain ores and blocks. For example, while stone can be mined with any pickaxe, gold ore must be mined with an iron pickaxe or better, or else the player will harvest no ore. Different pickaxes also mine many materials at different speeds. Axes are tools used to ease the process of collecting woods, wood planks, chests and bookshelves, but are not required to gather them. They can also be used on mobs and player as a weapon, but do half a heart less damage than swords of the same material. Hoes are tools used to till dirt and grass blocks into farmland blocks, the first step in farming wheat, melons, pumpkins, carrots and potatoes. They are an indispensable tool for farming.
