First Holy Communion.
Congratulations to the Boys and Girls from Broomfield and Aughnafarcon Schools who are making their First Holy
Communion today Sunday 10th May. There will be refreshments served in Broomfield Hall after the ceremony.
Confirmation: for the Boys and Girls of the Parish takes place on Saturday 16th May at 3.00pm in Broomfield
Church. We ask all involved in the ceremony to please be in their places by 2.45pm. Photographs/Videos are not
allowed during the ceremony. There will be one professional video of the ceremony, copies of which will be
available. As usual there will be refreshments served in Broomfield Hall after the ceremony during which Bishop
Liam S. Mac Daid will be available for family photographs.
Rehearsal for Confirmation: will be in Broomfield church on Thursday 14th May at 11.00am.
Rehearsal for Altar Servers : will be on Thursday evening 14th May at 8.00pm in Broomfield Church.
Mass for Young People doing Exams : The Annual Mass for Young People doing Exams this year and for their
parents and families will take place in Broomfield Church on Sunday 31st May at 12Noon. Some of the young
people who have completed their John Paul 11 Awards and would like to be Eucharistic Ministers will have their
training complete and be included as Eucharistic Ministers at this Mass.
Broomfield Day Care Church View: Our next Dinner Day will be on Tuesday 12th May. Usual Bus Service.
Anyone interested in availing of our Dinners and Light Entertainment is very welcome to come along and join us.

'The Redefinition of Marriage and the Rights of
Children' will be the subject of a talk by Patrick Carr
of the 'Mothers and Fathers Matter' group in the Errigal
Country House Hotel, Cootehill on Tuesday 19th May
at 8:00 p.m. There will also be a Questions and
Answers session on the forthcoming Marriage
Referendum. Everyone welcome. “...I encourage

Unwanted Clothing, shoes (pairs), handbags, towels,
curtains bed linen or Soft toys, Mobile Phone, Laptops
Books are accepted (no school books,(text or copy),
magazines or diaries). Collection date between
Thursday 7thMay and Tuesday 12thMay. Please leave
your bags in the porch beside the steps going up to the
gallery in Broomfield Church.
Lisdoonan National School Fundraising Committee.
Will host a Big Breakfast and cake sale in Lisdoonan
Community Centre on Sunday 24th of May before the
Monaghan, Cavan game. All support will be greatly
appreciated.

Donaghmoyne Ladies: Strictly Come Dancing:
Congratulations and well done to our very own Dancing
Queen Sandra Keenan who represented Donaghmoyne
Ladies so well last Sunday at Monaghan Ladies Strictly
Come Dancing.
Results: Wins were recorded for both Under 16 girls
when they overcame Magheracloone while the seniors
were also out at the weekend against Inniskeen.
Flag Day: Saturday 13thJune is the date set for our local
Flag Day in Carrickmacross.
The Carers Association: are providing the QQI
(FETAC) Level 5 Healthcare Award training in

The Poor Clares: in Galway are hosting Monastic
Experience Days on Saturday, 23rd of May and
Saturday the 20th of June from 10am to 5pm. The days
are designed to help young women between the ages of
21 and 40 to find out more about the Poor Clare way of

Lough Derg: will hold a special Day Retreat ‘Hope and
Encouragement for a New Beginning’ on Wednesday 20th
May. Fr Ben Hughes, who promotes healing and wellbeing, will facilitate the day which will be beneficial to
anyone who is living with or struggling with any issue
that is holding them back or hurting their life. Advance

St Michaels Little Scholars: are now taking names for
their 2015 Summer Camp - day trips to Imaginosity in
Dublin; Wax Museum, Dublin; Spraoi, Dublin and
Spruce Meadows in Lisburn. Contact the service for more

September 2015 will be extended 'til 2pm. After school
activities include kids cooking and football skills.

Ladies Mini -Marathon: We are holding a mini
marathon all in aid of Carrick-Cancer on Bank holiday
Sunday in June at 12pm sharp. Men are allowed to take
part but must dress as a Lady. Tea, coffee and loads of
homemade goodies when you return. No registration
needed, just call for a sponsorship card from any 1 of
