Director of Resource Development
Report to: President/CEO
GENERAL FUNCTION
Directs the development and execution of the comprehensive financial development
efforts including annual, capital, major and planned gifts. Directs the cultivation
and recognition plans for all donors. Provides mentoring, coaching and training to
all volunteers and staff to carry out fundraising responsibilities. Develop and
oversee all volunteer initiatives of the overall Association.
KNOW HOW
Bachelor's degree in business administration, financial development, communication,
public relations, human services or equivalent. Five or more years of experience in
the area of financial development preferred. CRFE Certification is a plus. Donor
Research and Raiser’s Edge experience is beneficial.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
1. Serves as Campaign Director for the Annual Campaign, providing staff support
to Chairman’s Round Table Committee ($1,000 + donors) , including recruiting
and supporting volunteers. Directs the staff annual campaign and works with
CEO to execute the Board giving campaign.
2. Works closely with the CEO on strategies for and execution of the capital and
endowment fundraising efforts and serve as the supporting staff for the
Endowment Committee.
3. Directs the donor recognition and cultivation programs for the Association
including acknowledgement, events, recognition and donor listings.
4. Manages events related to fund development objectives, including trainings,
donor recognition and cultivation events. Events will include (these may vary
from year to year):

Fall – Heritage Club Dinner
5. Directs the financial development plan on an annual basis, serving as staff to
volunteer committee.
6. Directs the volunteer efforts of the entire Association and supervises the work of
the Volunteer Coordinator.
7. Works to discover grant opportunities to be developed and pursued by the
Grants Director.
8. Develops communication strategies to assure consistent messaging that
articulates the Ys impact.
9. Serves as a member of the Leadership/Management Team.
10.Performs other special projects and assignments as directed by the CEO.
EFFECT ON END RESULTS
This position has primary impact on the overall fund development goals of the Y
and success of the annual campaign, as well as the recognition and cultivation of
donors resulting in increased giving and retention. The Board and fundraising
volunteers will feel well supported and recognized for their support of the Y.
Campaign events are high quality and well attended.
