Morning sessions – report no later than 7:45
Afternoon sessions – report no later than 11:45
2015 AP and IB May Testing Schedule – Check for any overlap between
tests if you are enrolled in both IB and AP classes!!!
Conduct of Examinations
• You have the handout. Be sure you’re clear on
expectations for testing.
• If you’re absent for any part of an IB test without a dire
circumstance reason, you have to pay for the test you
miss.
• IB does no make-up tests.
Answer Booklets
• Get your number correct on the front FIRST before you
begin writing inside.
• Follow directions for how to write your numbers.
• Review in all your classes. There are some variations.

Challenging the 1 – 7 score you
receive for an IB course
• Category 1 re-mark: the re-mark of externally assessed
material for an individual candidate
• Contact Mrs. Alford ASAP but before September 1!

• Understand that your score may go down from the
remark.

Math Studies SL – students can use the calculator on Paper 1 and Paper 2
Mathematics SL – student can only use calculator on Paper 2.

External Assessment
Paper 1: Day 1
• Paper 1 is made up of 40 multiple-choice questions
that test knowledge of the core and AHL material
for students at HL. The questions are designed to be
short, one- or two-stage problems that address
objectives 1 and 2 . No marks are deducted for
incorrect responses.
• Calculators are not permitted on Paper 1, but
students are expected to carry out simple
calculations.
• TOTAL TIME FOR THIS EXAM IS ONE HOUR.
Paper 1 Example:
Paper 2 Day 1 Section A
• In section A, there is a data-based
question that requires students to analyze
a given set of data. The remainder of
section A is made up of short-answer
questions.
Paper 2 Day 1 Section B

In section B, students at HL are required to answer two
questions from a choice of four. These extendedresponse questions may involve writing a number of
paragraphs, solving a substantial problem, or carrying
out a substantial piece of analysis or evaluation. A
calculator is required for this paper.
• TOTAL TIME FOR BOTH SECTIONS IS 2 ¼ HOURS.
Paper 2 Example:
Paper 3 Day 2
• Paper 3 tests knowledge of the options and
addresses objectives 1, 2 and 3. Students at SL
are required to answer several short-answer
questions in each of the two options studied.
Students at HL are required to answer several
short-answer questions and an extendedresponse question in each of the two options
studied. A calculator is required for this paper.
• TOTAL TIME FOR THIS TEST IS 1 ¼ HOURS.
