What is the main reason of insulation caps in hotrunner technology for the
automated injection moulding of thermoplastics? Well, a rather important one!
They reduce the time for changing the injection material due to the fact that
the pre-chamber area is not filled with plastic. Therefore, the risk of colour
mixing and bubble formation is minimised. As a result, difficult colour
changes, such as from black to white, or for crystal clear polycarbonate
melting, carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic or metal filling as well as heatsensitive materials such as PE, PP, PA, POM, PVC, PUR and others are
no longer a problem.
What is special about DOGLIDE® 350?
Compared to conventional materials, DOGLIDE 350 has a number of remarkable properties, such as
(the exact technical data on the right):
Continuous temperature resistance up to 280 °C (up to 400 °C for short periods of time)
Dimensional stability with good mechanical strength
Low thermal conductivity of 0.2 W/mk
Insulation caps made of DOGLIDE 350 guarantee a precise temperature control. At the same time, the
caps are extremely safe even under the most challenging pressure and temperature conditions.
