mvera® GP1000 Series Biodegradable polyester grades for injection moulding applications The mvera® GP1000 Series consists of a range of semicrystalline polyester grades, with excellent processing performance on conventional injection moulding machines. The base polymer is biodegradable at ambient temperatures, e.g. in soil or marine environments. The mvera® GP1000 Series can be used as a biodegradable alternative for PP, PE, PS or ABS components. All grades were developed to meet current compostability standards. A Vinçotte “OK compost” (EN 13432) certification was granted for GP1001, GP1003, GP1004 and GP1005. Applications Ideal for flexible injection moulding applications that benefit from biodegradability as a performance factor, such as beach toys, cable ties, plant clips, coffee capsules, etc. Key product features: • Fully biodegradable at room temperature • Compostable • Performance extends to low and high temperature (-30 ˚C to 80 ˚C) • High toughness and flexibility • Easy processing • Free of BPA and plasticizers, e.g. phthalates Typical properties of mvera® GP1000 Series Unit GP1001 Density ISO 1183 g/cm³ MFI 190 °C / 2.16 kg ISO 1133 g/10 min HDT/B ISO 75/B °C Test temperature °C -30 Tensile strength ISO 527-1/-2 MPa 45 Elongation at break ISO 527-1/-2 % 11 Tensile modulus ISO 527-1/-2 MPa 938 Flexural modulus ISO 178 MPa – Flexural strength ISO 178 MPa – Charpy impact strength (25 J) ISO 179-1/1eU kJ/m² 89.7 Charpy notched impact strength (0.5 J) ISO 179-1/1eA kJ/m² 1.7 Food compliance EU10/2011 – Certifications EN 13432 – BIO-FED Branch of AKRO-PLASTIC GmbH GP1003 GP1004 1.37 18 93 23 70 34 17.5 32 max. 777 405 859 – 43 – NB NB 6.1 11.5 1.5 1.49 24 12 – – 23 23 22 34 4.3 6.3 1622 1909 – 2226 – 56.9 15 55 3.1 5.2 yes Vinçotte “OK compost” GP1005 1.47 12 – 23 25 30.4 954 1061 42.4 51 3.4 BioCampus Cologne · Nattermannallee 1 50829 Cologne Germany Phone: +49 221 88 88 94-00 Fax: +49 221 88 88 94-99 [email protected] www.bio-fed.com The information contained herein is based on our current knowledge and experience.
