Update Instructions =================================================================================== The PM PDU plug-in version 2.0.1.5 requires DSView™ 4.5 management software or later. It is recommended that the PDU firmware is version 2.0.1. NOTE: Do not upgrade a PM PDU running version 1.2.0 or older through the DSView™ 4.5 management software. Instead, follow the steps outlined in section 8 of the PM PDU firmware release notes to upgrade a PM PDU running version 1.2.0 and older. =================================================================================== 2. Language Support Information =================================================================================== English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese are supported by this version of the PM PDU plug-in. Product ® Avocent PM PDU plug-in Software Type Version Filename Part # 2.0.1.5 SW0276-001 SW0276-001 ® Avocent PM PDU plug-in This plug-in supports the horizontal and vertical models of the PM 1000, 2000 and 3000 PDU families, which includes units with 3, 6, 10, 20 and 24 outlets. =================================================================================== 3. Features/Enhancements =================================================================================== NOTE: Please refer to the installer/user guide for details about features supported by the PDU. The features and enhancements supported by this version of the Avocent PM PDU plug-in include: Support configuration via BootP request. The BootP Configuration Retrieval option allows the entire unit configuration to be retrieved over BootP/TFTP during boot and during DHCP renewal. There are two ways to push a configuration during a DHCP request/renewal. The configuration can be sent as file created by the Save Configuration appliance system tool, or it can be sent as a CLI script to be executed under the command line scripting interface. When using the CLI approach, it is recommended to create the file by executing the list_configuration command only over the specific nodes that are affected. Although this feature is enabled by default, it requires the saved configuration file to be available in a TFTP server as well as changes in the DHCP server configuration to trigger the file transfer. 1 Support for configuring SNMP trap settings on the appliance from the DSView™ 4.5 software system tasks. =================================================================================== 4. Fixes =================================================================================== 63566: MergePoint™ Access references that appear when configuring Authentication and Events were removed. It now refers to DSView™ software instead. 62514: Allow different PDU and outlet names to coexist in the DSView™ software and appliance. New columns in PDU and outlet tables show both names. Pushing the name to the appliance may fail since it will validate the new name following appliance’s restrictions. 62638: Report locked status of outlets. 63521: Avoid merging outlets upon resync when the names of distinct outlets are the same in the DSView™ software and the appliance. 63522: Do not overwrite DSView™ software target names with appliance names upon resync. 63523: Avoid losing merged outlet targets when the PDU is renamed. 63530: Remove temporary files created during firmware upgrade. This allows for retrying upgrade in case the previous operation fails. 63567: Ensure PDU and outlets names pushed from the DSView™ software to appliance are preserved upon appliance reboot. 63670: Error on Security Profile page of the appliance PDU. =================================================================================== 5. Known Issues =================================================================================== This release contains the following known issues: The Upgrade Firmware wizard may fail when DSView™ 4.5 software Unit Status Polling is enabled. It is recommended that the Unit Status Polling is disabled when running the Upgrade Firmware wizard. If the appliance is not turned on or connected to the network when the appliance is deleted from DSView™ 4.5 software, the DSView™ 4.5 Certificate will not be cleared in the appliance. In this case, go to the appliance web (direct access without DSView™ 4.5 software), select System – Security- DSView page and click the Clear DSView Certificate button to be able to add the appliance to the DSView™ 4.5 software again. The following nodes are not saved in the Configuration Template: o System - Boot Configuration o Network - Devices The outlet status is not automatically updated after an operation that involves large number of outlets and/or long delays. The actual status is displayed by refreshing the page as the command is processed in the appliance.
