Preparations © ThinPrint GmbH 2015 1. Add the Core Server to your Windows domain (Active Directory). 2. Also add the computer with which you’re about to configure the Core Server to the same domain 3. On the Core-Server (which is to be used as a local print server) install the Server Role Printing-ServerCore-Role per ocsetup. 4. Install the desired printers on this server. 5. Configure the Core Server’s firewall so: • that the TCP port of ThinPrint Client is open in incoming direction (default port: 4000) 3 • that the file Thn32svc.exe as well as its installer file Setup.exe can be executed 6. Copy the installer file Setup.exe of ThinPrint Client Windows to a directory of the Core Server. 1also known as ThinPrint Client Gateway 2Alternative: SP-1 with Microsoft hotfixes KB958741 (Print Job Owner) and KB958656 (Client Side Rendering) installed 3For printing with Connection Service a TCP port in outgoing direction is necessary (default port: 4001). See also ThinPrint Connected Gateway manual. core-server_e.fm Technical information 3 Installation 1. Run the installer Setup.exe (Illus. 1, background). Proceed as described in the ThinPrint Client Windows manual. 2. During installation select ThinPrint Client TCP/IP as the client type. (The protocol TCP/IP has also to be set up as print protocol in ThinPrint Engine’s Port Manager – see the respective ThinPrint Engine manual.) 3. Furthermore, an account has to be entered for the Windows service. Choose an account with administrative permissions (Illus. 1, foreground). Illus. 1 Illus. 1 Entering the Administrator account for the Windows service 4. On the Core Server, create the following Registry Key (if not already exists): hkey_local_machine\software\thinprint\TPView 5. Under this Key, create the Value EnableLegacyFonts as a reg_dword and set it to 1. 6. Restart the TP CLIENT SERVICE WINDOWS to confirm the Registry settings.
