DELHI PUBLIC SCHOOL JAIPUR SUMMER HOLIDAY HOMEWORK (2015 – 2016) CLASS NURSERY (OPTIONAL) HOLIDAYS HOLIDAYS HOLIDAYS !!! It’s time to smile and play The holidays are from 16th May, WOW! You are waiting for this lovely day. With friends, you will play and run. Promise, that you will do the given work and have fun. Dear Students, Summer Holidays are the time to have fun, to play with friends or to explore new places, but there is a lot more you can do to make your holidays more interesting, meaning full of fun along with doing some fun filled activities. Few guidelines for your parents to make your long summer break fruitful. We recommend that you read out stories to your child as it will encourage them to pick up reading ,will build vocabulary and language skills. “A healthy mind lives in a healthy body”. Encourage your child to go out and play because sports instill discipline, generate sporting spirits, channelize energies constructively. Sensitize your child about the rich culture and heritage by watching different informative channels like „The National Geographic‟, Animal Planet etc. Encourage your child to do the activities himself / herself and appoint a specific time to do homework everyday as these activities not only improves their reading and writing but also enhances their ability to reason and to understand the concepts. 1. To improve fine motor skill Draw different shapes (circle, triangle, square, and rectangle) on a A4 sheet. Tear different coloured papers and paste the torn pieces in the shapes drawn on A4 sheet. Grafalco Pre School Patterns book-Do pages 14, 15, 16& 17. Make your child do Clay modeling and encourage him/her to create simple designs. Please send any one model made by your ward to school. 2. To improve gross motor skills Encourage your child to do cycling and swimming. Spend your weekend by playing different outdoor games with your child. 3. To improve oratory skills Take your child to the market and ask him /her to tell the names of different kinds of summer fruits and vegetables.Paste or draw on an A4 coloured sheet the picture of summer fruit and vegetable that your ward saw in the market. Hindi English rhymes book- Revise the rhymes „Mummy‟s Pet‟,‟Mama Darling,Papa Darling‟,‟I Love You‟. Encourage your child to speak few lines on a topic given by you. The topic should be age appropriate. You can do this activity once or twice in a week. 4. To improve socio – emotional development Take your child to a park and encourage him/her to interact and play with other children. Show your child the greenery around and help him /her to water the plants and make him/her familiar with the names of few plants and trees. Paste or draw on an A4 coloured sheet, the picture of the plants and trees that they see in the park or garden with you. Inculcate the habit of doing good things at home like sharing and helping others. Project- Make two cutouts of „Teddy Bears‟ –decorate and paint them on both sides. Punch a hole on top. Tie a string and bring them to school when you come after your summer holidays. If you cannot draw, cut them out from books and paste them on sheets. They will look lovelyhanging in your class. Collect the seeds of two summer fruits and bring them to school. ENJOY HOLIDAYS NOTE: The school will reopen on 01st July‟ 2015. Please return all the books and notebooks on the very first day.
