Orange County Bike Camp: A great place for youth as well as older individuals with disabilities to learn to ride a 2-wheeler in a safe, air-conditioned environment! • Overcome the fear of falling off the bike • Learn to coordinate steering, pedaling, and using the brakes Just think: After a week of riding sessions, you could be riding around your neighborhood, riding to the store, riding on a bike path, taking a ride at the beach with friends or your family-This could be you! This camp teaches individuals with disabilities to ride conventional 2-wheel bikes without training wheels, using a curriculum and ultra-stable trainer bikes from iCanShine’s iCanBike program. A core group of researchers, as well as adapted physical education specialists, have devoted years of time-tested research to enable individuals with special needs to overcome physical and mental challenges related to riding two-wheelers.
