LUTHER ALPHA, son of the later Mr. and Mrs. James Scatliffe,
was born at Turnbull Hill, Tor~ola, British Virgin Islands,
on March 2, 1906.

daughter of Authur and Adita ~rnbull.
On January. 16,

In 1940 he moved to the Botanic Station where he built
his home. He was very active fn the community as a
member of the Local Council and the Odd Fellowship Lodge.
As a government worker his dut(i.es were as follows building roads and helping with prisoners. Later in
1970 he started transporting school children to the
various schools until his illness.

himself many times the necessi t ies of life so that his
children could always be well !Provided for. He made
many sacrifices so that he cou';Ld help and care for
his children whom he loved ve~ much. His ea. lm and
quiet disposition was admired ~y all who knew him.
