A note from the...
The Staff and Maintenance Committee have conducted a comprehensive evaluation of our physical properties and have compiled a list
of items which need to be addressed. At the top of that list is the water damage in the exterior wall of the bar. The windows have
evidently been leaking for some time, causing some discoloration to the interior paneling, and damage to the support structure. All of
the windows will need to be removed, and damaged panels and substructure replaced. New windows, along with a new doorway, will
then be installed. The doorway will allow easier access from the bar to the outdoor patio area, and encourage more use of the patio for
social activities. The Entertainment/Outdoor Activities Committee is already discussing way to incorporate the patio into some future
activities.
The GM Search Committee has re-posted our vacancy and has already received resumes from more than a dozen well-qualified
candidates. The Committee will be meeting as soon as possible to review the new applicants and set up interviews with the best
candidates. We do not want the process to drag on for too long, but we are still committed to finding the best possible matc h for our
Club.
The Club continues to operate well thanks to the hard work and dedication of our staff. Jack has asked several Staff members to assume
broader responsibilities, and each of them has willingly agreed to do so. The Board recognizes that we are understaffed, but would like
to get a new GM on board before adding any other staff members. We once again want to tell our employees how much we appreciate
all that you are doing, and encourage each of you to let Jack know if there is anything that can be done to make your experience at DCC
more pleasurable.
From the Pro Shop…..
Spring and green grass have finally arrived. That means a few fun events will be getting under way at the course. Couples twilight
will be starting up on Thursday April 2nd. We encourage couples to come out and take advantage of a fun scramble format. Call or
stop by the golf shop to sign up!
Men's MGA will be kicking off their 2015 season on Tuesday, April 7th. This is a great fun event that occurs every first Tuesday of the
month. It is a wonderful opportunity for new members or members who have yet to play in this event to meet other golfing
members. It's also one of the only times in the year you might play the course backwards. If you are interested in joining th e MGA
contact Jeff Jones or Derrick Hampton. This event draws a good crowd so get here early to sign-up. Shotgun starts at 5:45pm.
As we welcome spring, we encourage you to stop by the golf shop and stock up for the spring season. We carry Footjoy and Linksoul
golf apparel as well as Sun Mountain rain gear. If you're looking for equipment we carry Sun Mountain golf bags, Titleist Vokey Sm5
wedges in a few different grinds, Odyssey and Cleveland putters. If we don't have it in the shop I can also special order any
equipment you might need. We have a great sale going on Footjoy Countour Casual spikeless golf shoes.
We look forward to seeing you out on the course !

Update from the course…..
Hello from the course:
The last few weeks have been rather busy. We are steadily seeing the course wake up for the summer. We have taken out some
of the mowing equipment and are ready to begin in some areas. The fairways were all dragged and cleaned. This cleansing the
removed the thatch form last summer and this winter and allowed the mowers to get a good first cut. This will assist in getting
the fairways in great shape. We have gone ahead and sprayed the tee areas with herbicide to remove the winter grass (rye) and
jump start the transition. This is critical to having the tees fully covered with "good grass". This brings me to a "I need your help"!
We are trying to do a better job of keeping the divots buckets on the tees full of sand. Please use the sand on the par 3 tees. It
would thrill me to have to fIll those buckets everyday rather than once a week.
The MGA project on hole fourteen is well under way. We installed the drainage for the fairway back in January, We now have
begun moving dirt into the area to level the left side. We will still maintain the slope along the very edge however the bottom of
the area will now be much "more level.” The shot into the green will remain difficult. However, this project should make it a
“fair, difficult shot” into the green. We should have the area finished up and grassed shortly after Easter.
Please watch out for the normal wet areas. We have a lot of new faces playing the course. We should all be vigilant and let
others know about the possibility of damaging these areas. We are on an "honor system" here no different than this sport being
the only one (I know of) where you referee yourself. We can remind others about damaging what we own, then we need to be
examples of what to do while on the course.
Ball Marks, Ball Marks, Ball Marks!! Please everyone fix two at every green. I can't begin to talk about how many we are
repairing before we can cut a green. I know that many times they are hard to see but let's try to find two to repair. PLEASE keep
helping us with filling divots and repairing ball marks.
We thank you for all your assistance.
