General Manager
A note from the...
We are pleased to announce that we have a new General Manager! The Search Committee unanimously recommended
Wyche Bryce, who accepted our offer and began his duties on Tuesday, April 28. Mr. Bryce has a wealth of experience with
country clubs, having served since 1991 as a successful General Manager at various clubs in North Carolina, Georgia, and
Mississippi. He was last employed as the General Manager of Hattiesburg Country Club in Hattiesburg, MS. He left
Hattiesburg following the total destruction of his house by a tornado when he and his wife, Miki, decided to take a
sabbatical, traveling in their motor home throughout the Southeast and Southwest, spending time with friends and
exploring new places. He is excited about the opportunity to be a part of Dublin Country Club, and looks forward to
providing the strategic and focused club leadership critical to member satisfaction while balancing financial and overall
operational results.
On other matters, the new doors have been installed in the pub allowing easier access to the outdoor patio. New windows
will follow soon and the damaged paneling replaced or repaired. We hope you will enjoy using the patio as an extension of
the pub, and will appreciate the new doors as we incorporate the terrace in some of our future activities.
We are also soliciting quotes for replacing floor coverings, and repairing and painting walls in the main corridors and
selected areas of the clubhouse. Our intention is to make the clubhouse more appealing for our members and their guests.

Update from the course…..
Hello from the course:
I think father time and mother nature caught up with us on the course. I have noted several areas in fairways that are not
responding to the spring temperatures. I have sent portions of the grass off for examination and several people (those smarter
than I) have been on the property. The general consensus is we have suffered "winter desiccation" on the fairways (cold, wet with
high wind freeze damage). This is not what I would like to report however we should all be aware of developing challenges. We
are aggressively working to correct the areas, but this will take a bit of time to grow back in properly. We will be converti ng the
normal fertility program in these fairways to an extra fertilizer "grow in" style program. I am optimistic that they will
recover without having to replace the grass. It is trying to grow back on its own but far too slow for our needs.
We will be finishing up the fairway project on hole 14. Randy Clark and I worked together to level the bottom of the fairway and
still make sure the area would drain quickly. I expect that once grassed it will be a great improvement on that hole. Please try and
remember that driving thru that area will only create more ruts and bad playing conditions. The grass has been ordered and once
the sod fields dry for harvest we will finish. The fairway project (#14) along with the new retention wall at 10 tee are projects the
MGA are funding. Please participate in the events we have. Those events are our fund raising source to help subsidize the golf
course budget and keep us moving forward.
The greens are once again providing some spring challenges. The greens are recovering from last fall and the areas damaged by
the deep freezes look much better. We will be starting the vertical mowing process which will disrupt putting for a day or two but
we must do this. I'm working this activity around the schedule of events so during the weeks we will be addressing different
greens. We will do our best to avoid interfering with play. If we are working and fail to see you, please understand we are n ot
trying to be "in your way".
Ball Marks, Ball Marks, Ball Marks!! Please everyone fix two at every green. We should be able to see them easier now and failing
to repair while the grass is growing will cause some missed putts. A hearty Thank you to those who are using the sand buckets on
the par 3 tees. That will make a big difference over the summer.
I will also ask for some help with the cart traffic. we are a unique club. we have twice as much traffic due to single riders in carts.
Let's work hard to use the cart paths near the greens. Later in the summer we will be happier when the grass doesn't have cart
tracks thru it.
We thank you for all your assistance.
Take Care,
Hampton Kicklighter Jr. CGCS
