COUNCIL/COMMITTEE MEETINGS
The following meetings will be held during the
month of March. These are public meetings
that you are welcome to attend.
Council: Tuesday, March 10th and Tuesday,
March 24th, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Corbeil
Park Hall.
Recreation: Monday, March 16th, 2015 at 7:00
p.m. at the East Ferris Community Centre.
TAX BILLS
The interim tax bills will be sent by mail at the
beginning of March. Installments are due
March 31st and April 30th, 2015.
Payment options include cash, cheque, online/telephone banking, debit and monthly
preauthorized payments. The Municipality
does not accept credit cards. More information
on these options can be found in the Municipal
Calendar or on the municipal website at
www.eastferris.ca.
HALF LOADS IN EFFECT
Beginning March 1st the ½ load restriction
period will apply to all municipal roads. This
will continue until May 15th, 2015, unless
otherwise posted. If you are considering
building a house this season please plan
accordingly.
FIRE DEPARTMENT - REMINDER
With the extended winter and great amounts of
snowfall this year, it is imperative that
homeowners clear the snow from civic address
signs at the end of their driveways in case of
an emergency. If your civic address sign is in
need of repair, please contact the Municipal
Office.

EAST FERRIS LIBRARY
Vendors Wanted! Friends of the East Ferris Public
Library will be holding their 7th Annual Flea
Market/Garage Sale at the East Ferris Community
Centre. The sale will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00
p.m. on Saturday, May 9th, 2015. Last year we had over
100 vendors and this year tables are quickly selling out!

EAST FERRIS COMMUNITY CENTRE
East Ferris and Callander Youth Recreational Soccer
Location: Games played at Vrebosch Park in Corbeil
and Callander Community Centre
Dates: June to August 2015
Ages: 4-10 and 11 & 12 based on sufficient registration
numbers.
Cost: $70 first child, $65 for second and $205 for a
family (3 or more children from same family)
East Ferris Waterfront Swim Lessons
Lessons are based on Red Cross Swim Levels and take
place at the Government Dock on Big Moose Road.
Session dates are Monday, July 6th – Friday, July 24th or
Tuesday, August 4th – Friday, August 21st.
Lessons take place Monday to Friday, with the
exception of holidays.
Registration, with payment, may be dropped off during
regular office hours at the Municipal Office or the East
Ferris Community Centre.

WASTE RECYCLING STRATEGY
Recently, the preparation of a Waste Recycling
Strategy was initiated by the Municipalities of
East Ferris, Powassan and the Township of
Chisholm. Public Meetings were held on January
28th and 29th, 2015.
The purpose of the Strategy is to increase the
efficiency and effectiveness of our recycling
program and maximize the amount of blue box
material recycled in a cost effective
manner. Once finalized (end of March), the
Strategy will be available to the public. We
encourage everyone to take advantage of the
recycling program and help us achieve our waste
diversion goals. For more information, please

CORBEIL FOUR SEASONS CLUB
The Corbeil Four Seasons Club is hosting a “Crib
for Bucks” Tournament on Sunday, March 8th,
2015. Registration begins at 12:00 p.m.

REMINDERS
2015 DOG TAGS
Dog tags are now available to license your dog.
Tags are $20.00 for the first dog in your
household and $10 for each additional dog. Tags
are valid from January 1st to December 31st every
year. Please visit the Municipal Office at 390
Hwy 94 to obtain your dog tag today.
A reminder to all dog owners:
In accordance with By-law 2014-19, it is unlawful
to leave dog excrement on public lands. Please
be responsible and clean up after your pets.
