Since its inception in 2012, the edible FEST in Orange has become one of
the most highly anticipated culinary events of the Central Virginia

summer. The festival, presented by edible Blue Ridge magazine and the
Orange Downtown Alliance, returns to downtown Orange for its fourth
year on Saturday, August 8, 2015, promising another delicious celebration
of the Earth to Table movement and its unique roots right here in Central Virginia.
This year’s event is expected to once again draw a large, enthusiastic and demographically diverse
crowd, and will be highlighted by ten professionally presented chef demos featuring some of the region’s
leading culinary stars. Each demo features a multi-camera AV setup to ensure that all attendees can get
an up-close view of the chefs’ handiwork, and concludes with free samples.
The edible FEST’s roster of past chefs includes a veritable “Who’s Who” of local culinary stars including
Ian Boden of The Shack (Staunton), Craig Hartman of The Barbeque Exchange (Gordonsville), Jason Alley of
Pasture (Richmond and Charlottesville), and Harrison Keevil of Brookville (Charlottesville).
The edible FEST will also feature a vibrant Marketplace featuring more than 30 leading local and
regional vendors and artisans. The Edna Lewis Dining Court, named for Orange’s own culinary legend
(known as the “Grande Dame of Southern Cooking”) will feature food from some of the area’s top food
trucks. The DIY Tent will feature sustainable living experts presenting hands-on “Do It Yourself”
demonstrations, such as small space gardening/container gardening, beer brewing, wine making, cheese
and yogurt making, sauerkraut making, vinegar making, canning, seed starting, hydroponics, indoor
gardens, and composting. Live music will be offered throughout the day, and family fun will definitely be
on the menu thanks to our Kids’ Place, which will once again include a range of fun-filled and festivalthemed activities led by the Boys and Girls Club of Orange.
The edible FEST in Orange is expected to draw more than 2,000 guests this year, in addition to
receiving significant paid and editorial media attention from top outlets throughout the region. Contact us
